Scene One -- The Glubbs House; Shane’s Home

Shane opens the front door of his two story house, with a grim look upon his face. He doesn’t know what to do right now: Cassie is pregnant with his child. He wonders how this possibly could have happened, when in fact he knows how often he and Cassie had unprotected sex. How stupid could I have been? He scolds himself. He thinks back to seeing Natasha’s face at the hospital when he got confirmation that Cassie is with child; she went pale and her eyes quickly lost the sparkle they normally have. He knows that she was devastated.

He looks around the living room; the lights are off and there is no sign of life. Natasha’s car was outside, he remembers quickly as he walks towards the staircase. He knows that she has to be in the house.

“Nat?” he calls out as he walks up the stairs. He still hears nothing, but once he is at the top of the stairs, he sees the bedroom light on. He enters the doorway and sees Natasha’s suitcase on the bed open. She’s frantically putting her belongings in the suitcase. “What’s going on?”

Natasha, who is rushing, looks at him with damp eyes. “I’m going home. I mean back to the guest house,” she says coldly, still folding clothing into her luggage.

“Why?” he asks softly coming up close to her. “This doesn’t have to change anything Nat.”

Natasha doesn’t stop for a second. She continues to put things into her suitcase quickly, desperate to leave. She can’t stop, she doesn’t want to think about what’s going on. She just knows she has to leave quickly.

“Talk to me,” he says coming closer to her. He finally places his hands on her to stop her from packing. “Please talk to me!” he pleads with her.

Tears stream down her face, “It’s over Shane. I can’t be with you,” she says softly.

Shane gets a tear in his eye. While he knew that this would put a damper on their relationship, he truly believed that he and Natasha would be able to work through this, especially since they just found each other.

“We’re so happy together Nat,” he tells her. “Don’t let this ruin that. We can still be together.”

Natasha wipes her face. “You have a child to think about it. I won’t be the one that stands in the way of your relationship with him or her.”

“You don’t have too! I can be a great father and be with you at the same time,” Shane tells her, believing every word that he is saying.

“Really? I’ve seen so many families come into my office needing legal advice about a failed relationship and the children are in the middle. I’ve seen so many father’s have new girlfriends or wives and they take up so much more of their time. I … I can’t let you put your child second Shane. You only get one chance with them,” Natasha says calmly as she returns to packing her luggage. “Besides, you should be giving your child a proper name.”

Shane arches his eyebrow. “A proper name? What do you mean?”

“You should marry Cassie. She’s innocent in this too. Do the right thing. Give your son or daughter a mother, a father and a family. They deserve that,” she says trying not to get emotional.

“I can be a good father and not be with Cassie!,” he tells her again getting more firm with his answer.

“You would regret it Shane. You need to be there every day to see your child grow. You would regret it, regret me, if you missed key moments. His first word, or his first step. You have to be there. You have to be there for Cassie and your baby.”

Shane sighs. He knows that Natasha has strong beliefs with a family unit, still he doesn’t think he can go through with something like this. “But I don’t love her. I can’t marry someone I don’t love.”

Natasha doesn’t even think before she replies, “But you can sleep with her and get her pregnant?”

Shane stops. The last thing he wants to do is fight with Natasha. He knows that she is hurting and that she is taking her hurt out with her words. “Please Natasha?”

Natasha zips up her suitcase before she turns to him. “I love you Shane. A part of me always will, but you and I … we’re over. I’m sorry. I think you should do the right thing. In my opinion, that means you should marry Cassie and make a family with her. I have to do what I think is right too. And that means, leaving,” she says getting teary again. “Maybe after some time we can talk and be friends.”

“I can’t lose you!” he pleads with her, letting a tear run down his cheek.

“I’m sorry,” she says grabbing her bag. “I have to go. Take care of yourself Shane.”

Shane helplessly watches as Natasha walks out of the bedroom with her bag. As another tear falls from his eye, he hears the front door close and he hears Natasha’s car start. “Don’t leave me,” he says in a whispered voice, knowing that Natasha or no one will ever hear him. “Please don’t leave me.”

Scene Two -- Madeline’s Mini-Cooper

Madeline sits in her red and white Mini-Cooper driving down the highway. Next to her is Victoria, who is holding a map. Together, they are driving to the Victors Estate, the home in which Vinny grew up. Madeline secretly still feels uneasy about trusting Victoria, but she knows if she wants a way out of the Dave and Brett situation that she had to put her feelings aside and work with her.

“So we turn right at the next intersection?” Madeline asks Victoria, whom is still looking at the map.

“Yup, and then we don’t turn again for 300 miles,” Victoria says reading the map, circling the final destination with her pencil. “It shouldn’t take us too long. By the way, what’s that smell?”

Victoria scrunches her nose when Madeline points to the air freshener hanging in the window from the mirror. “You mean my vanilla dolphin?”

“Gross,” Victoria says under her breath.

Madeline rolls her eyes and opts not to say anything back to Victoria. She doesn’t want to make this trip any longer or more painful than what it already is. “So you’ve been pretty vague up to this point; what do you remember about Vinny shooting you?”

Victoria looks over at Madeline. She too wonders if she should trust Madeline. She knows that they have never gotten along, but she has been pleasantly surprised that Madeline is willing to help her go to the Victors Estate. “You promise that it just stays between us?”

“Of course. I don’t want anyone to know that we are doing this together,” Madeline remarks, also unaware of the trust level with her road trip buddy.

“Okay. This is going to sound weird, but I knew that Vinny wasn’t Vinny at all. I discovered this, and they wanted to keep me quiet … so he shot me,” Victoria recounts to Madeline’s surprise. The revelation keeps both girls quiet for a moment, neither one sure of what to say next.

“You mean … Dave?” Madeline asks softly, still trying to grasp that someone else may actually know the truth.

Victoria looks over at Madeline in shock. “Yea. Dave … you know Dave?”

“It’s a long story, but yes. I know that Dave is Vinny’s triplet with Brett,” Madeline reveals. “This is why I’m agreeing to help you. They’ve put me in the middle of this scheme and I want out. I thought if I helped you, we could all have resolution to this.”

Victoria smiles, knowing that it finally makes sense. “I know why they shot me. My only question left is: Where is the real Vinny?”

Madeline looks over at her and arches her eye brow. “Maybe we’ll find out.”

Scene Three -- Dominick’s Townhouse

Dominick quickly scans the headline of the Twin Peaks Sun regarding Meggan’s verdict. He quickly wonders how Leah is doing and realizes that he should probably call her to see how she is. He knows that she has been going through the worst of times since Noah’s death and he partly feels bad that he has not been there for her more.

“Maybe I should let this Sofia quest go,” he says to himself as he reaches over for his phone. He is half way through dialling her number when he hears the doorbell ring. He hangs up the phone with a slight sigh as he wanted to talk to Leah. He makes his way over to the front door and opens it to find Cory standing there. “Cory, this is a surprise. Please come in,” Dominick says as Cory enters the townhouse.

“Thanks. I’m sorry I didn’t call first, I was in the neighbourhood,” Cory explains as he enters the living room.

“It’s fine, it’s fine. What can I help you with?”

Cory looks over at Dominick, “It’s Robin. I need your help.”

Dominick arches his eyebrow. He knows far too well how Cory has jerked Robin around for months as he went back and forth between her and Natasha. He does know, through the grapevine, that he and Natasha have filed for divorce however. “Robin? How can I help you with my daughter?”

“I went to Mexico. I found her,” Cory explains wasting no time getting involved in the story. “Natasha and I are over. I realize that I love Robin, I want to be with her.”

“And what did she say?” Dominick asks, although he already knows the answer to his question.

“She said she wants nothing to do with me; she wouldn’t even listen to what I have to say. I need you to help me get through to her. That I’m real and want to be with her,” Cory pleads his case.

Dominick smiles. “Are you real Cory? Or is this another chapter of this game you’ve been playing?”

Cory feels his cheeks blush as he knows that he has toyed with Robin for a while a few years now. “I promise you that this is real. Natasha and I have started the divorce procedures. She’s moved on with Shane Glubbs, and I want to be with Robin.”

Dominick looks at Cory and places his hands on his shoulders. “Then fight for her. She loves you Cory. She’s running because she’s scared of getting hurt again. If you show her that you really care, she’ll be there.”

Cory smiles. “Thanks Dominick. I appreciate it.”

“But if you hurt her again, you answer to me Cory,” Dominick sternly advises wiping the smile off his face.

Cory looks at Dominick in the eyes. “I promise that I will do everything in my power to make her the happiest woman in the world.”

Scene Four -- Main Street

“Thanks for coming shopping with me today,” Trenyce smiles as she and Andy walk down Main Street. Together, they’ve already bought some baby items like a mobile and some rattles. Trenyce knows that she wants to get an engagement ring today too; the sooner she shows Toni that she is engaged to her baby’s father, the better.

Andy looks over at Trenyce and sees that she is really happy, which is a nice change of pace from her mood lately. He remembers her begging him for help with her baby as she is scared social services could take her baby away from her if she’s not in a stable environment. His heart is torn with feelings right now; on one hand he is happy that he is helping his best friend, but on the other hand his heart aches that he is not with Reese and Reese is in so much pain. Some how, he realizes, he has to make Reese understand. If only Reese would talk to him, he thinks.

“Earth to Andy!” Trenyce teases him stopping outside the Sugarbowl. “You look a million miles away. What are you thinking?”

Andy gives her half a grin, not really wanting to admit he’s thinking about Reese. “Sorry, I guess I have a lot on my mind. Like finding us an apartment and withdrawing from college. Did I tell you? I got a job full time at the Sun. It’s a weekly column, but it’s a start!”

“That’s great Andy! There’s only one thing missing …”

Andy arches his eyebrow. “Yea? What could that be?”

Unbeknownst to them, Reese is just about to leave the Sugarbowl with a large mocha. He opens the door and overhears the last part of the conversation.

“My engagement ring! Let’s get it today!” Trenyce says with a huge, beaming smile.

Andy turns his head to see Reese step out of the coffee shop. Reese is floored by what he just heard. Andy and Trenyce are engaged! The words are like another dagger into his already bleeding heart.

“I guess congratulations are in order,” he says coldly, trying to remain calm and collected.

“Thanks Reese!” Trenyce says coming up and half hugging him. While she is in the embrace, she closes her eyes; she knows that Reese is in pain with her lies about Andy being the father. She wishes that she could make him feel alright, but she can not risk anyone learning the truth. She needs to protect her baby, at all costs.

“Reese, do you have a minute? I’d like to talk to you,” Andy chimes in as Trenyce and Reese exit the embrace.

“No, I don’t. Not for you,” Reese replies coldly walking away from them. Andy looks at Trenyce then turns and runs up to Reese.

“Please, just hear me out!” Andy pleads with him as Reese continues to walk quickly. Reese stops for a moment and looks at Andy, disgusted that he loves him still.

“Go to your finance Andy. Go to your baby. That’s your life now. We are over! We never were anything! Just … just leave me alone!” Reese says as he fights tears in his eyes.

Andy watches helplessly as Reese rushes away. Trenyce, still standing in front of the Sugarbowl, watches the encounter. She turns around so Andy doesn’t see her eyes fill with water. Maybe, she thinks to herself, it’s time she tells Andy the truth: she knows he’s gay and she knows what he is giving up for her.

“Hey, sorry about that,” Andy says coming back up to her, catching his breath. “How about we go get that ring for you?”

Trenyce sighs and takes a deep breath. She let’s herself smile a little. “I’d love that,” she says returning her attention to Andy, knowing that she has to tell him the truth.

Scene Five -- The Wilkins Estate; Preston, Olivia & Reese’s Home

Preston sits in his office reviewing some legal documents. He decided to work from home in morning as he doesn’t have clients coming in until the afternoon. He enjoys working from home as the sound of the busy office and telephones ringing doesn’t distract him as much. He reviews Meggan’s case; he wishes she would have at least given herself a chance at getting less than 20 years in jail. He sighs, knowing that he can’t win them all; he can’t control all of his clients.

“You look busy,” Cassie says standing in the office doorway. She walks in and sits down in the chair in front of his office. Since she learned the truth of Preston and Olivia being bank robbers, she has been seeing them a lot as she is blackmailing them into helping her with her plan to get Shane back. Despite the harsh reality of their relationship, she has been enjoying their company.

“What do you want? I thought you were meeting Olivia later?” Preston says returning his focus to his paper work after seeing his guest is Cassie.

“Is that anyway to treat me? We are friends Preston,” Cassie smirks as she sits down.

“Right. What’s seems to be the problem?” he questions her, not amused that she is taking up some of his working time. In reality, Preston knows that he is at her beck and call; he never thought anyone would put it together that he and Olivia were the robbers from years ago. On some level he has to give Cassie a lot of credit for putting it together so seamlessly; on another level he is scared to death of what she will do with the information now that she has it.

“I’ve been cramping a lot. I’m scared for the baby,” Cassie admits. “I wonder…”

Preston looks up from his paper work. “Is there really a baby? I just assumed Olivia faked the pregnancy test results.”

Cassie laughs a little. “I’m not that desperate! I’m really carrying Shane’s baby. I’m about 4 months, actually. I’m further along than I thought I was.”

“Fantastic. I don’t know what the cramping could be though. Olivia is the doctor. You should get it checked out. That baby is the key to you and Shane. Then maybe you can leave Olivia and I alone?”

Cassie laughs. “I need your help still. I need you to make sure Natasha has a very busy work load so she can actually leave Shane alone now that I am with his child.”

“I can do that,” Preston says to her knowing that he can give Natasha some of his files easily.

Cassie’s cell phone begins to ring. “Excuse me for a moment,” Cassie says as she digs through her bag until she finds her phone. “Hello …. Right now? Yea, I’ll be right over.”

Cassie looks up at Preston. “That was Shane. He wants to see me!”

“Good luck. We’ll do our part. You do yours,” Preston says with a slight smirk on his face. While he would never admit it to Cassie, part of him as missed the rush of doing something bad. He enjoys the adrenaline rush he gets. “And I’ll tell Liv about the cramping.”

Scene Six -- Madeline’s Mini-Cooper

The car continues to roll along the highway as Madeline and Victoria grow closer to their final destination: The Victors Estate. Madeline looks over and sees Victoria sleeping in the passenger seat. While she hates to admit it, she does realize that she needs Victoria. Helping Victoria find the real Vinny could make her involvement with Dave and Brett disappear. That’s what she wants more than anything. Then, she can proceed with finding a real job and moving forward with her relationship with Will. She smiles at the thought of having a normal life.

She looks over when she hears Victoria stir. Victoria slowly opens her eyes and looks around. “Where are we?”

“Almost there. You slept for awhile,” Madeline notes looking at the clock.

“Do you want me to take over driving?” Victoria asks as she takes a small drink of water from the bottle of water they brought.

“Nah. Wait! Look at that!” Madeline says slowly downing and stopping the car on the side of the road. They open the doors to the car and look up at the top of the hill. A large estate is on the top of the tall hill. The estate is surrounded by large trees and a visible fence.

“That’s it! That’s the house Vinny grew up in!”

Victoria looks over at Madeline with a sense of fear; fear of what they’ll find in the house and what they won’t find in the house.

“Ready?” Victoria asks getting back into the car.

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” Madeline replies in a mix of emotion.

Scene Seven -- The Wilkins Estate; Preston, Olivia & Reese’s Home

Reese shuts his bedroom door, not wanting to have the company of his mother or father. He wants to be alone, a common feeling for him lately. Still coming to terms with Andy’s devastating betrayal, Reese lays on the bed with tears in his eyes. While getting Trenyce pregnant is one thing, marrying her is quite another. The words replay over and over in his head. Trenyce’s voice saying “engagement ring”. “Fuck them both,” Reese says standing up from his bed.

He walks over to his desk and turns on his laptop. He opens the internet and goes back to “Gayhunter.com”. After logging in, he sees he has a new message. He clicks on the inbox and sees the user name “ryan_stud”. He clicks the username and sees an attractive chest as the profile picture. Reese smiles liking what he sees. He returns to the inbox and reads the message. It says “Hey … nice profile! I’ll be at the new gay bar, Bar Code, tonight. You should come! Ryan”.

Reese looks up and smiles. “I’m going to the bar tonight,” he says standing up and planning on his outfit.

Scene Eight -- The Glubbs House; Shane’s Home

Cassie rings the doorbell to Shane’s home and waits for him to open the door. She wonders why he summoned her to his house. Is he going to ask her to move back in? That they’ll be a family again? Or that he is staying with Natasha and he will still try to be a father to her baby. She knows that she has a second plan in motion should he want to stay with Natasha.

“Cassie, thanks for coming,” Shane says as he opens the door and lets her in.

“Of course, I came as soon as I got your phone call,” Cassie says removing her jacket and sitting down in the living room.

“How are you feeling? How is the baby?” Shane asks sitting next to her.

“I’m feeling okay. A little morning sickness. Nothing out of the question,” Cassie says smiling, failing to mention her cramping. She doesn’t want him to worry for no reason, especially when she doesn’t know what is going on.

“Good. I’m glad. I want you to be healthy and happy. I want our baby to be healthy,” he says.

Cassie smiles. Music to her ears. “Thanks Shane. I’ll be fine. It’s nice that you care. I hate that I’m ruining your life with this news.”

“You’re not ruining my life! We both knew what we were doing.”

“True,” Cassie says wondering when Shane will get to the reason he asked her over. “So what’s going on?”

Shane stops for a moment and looks at her. “Natasha ended our relationship today,” he says slowly, moving his eyes to the ground.

“Oh Shane, I’m so sorry,” Cassie says trying to hide her smile. “I know that you guys had strong feelings for each other. I hope this isn’t’ because of me and the baby.”

Shane looks over. “No, no. She had a lot of good points. She’s right. I do have to be a father to our baby. We have to give our baby the best home and up bringing. That’s the best thing to do.”

Cassie can not hide her smile anymore. “What are you saying?”

“Move back in with me Cassie. Let’s raise our baby together.”

Scene Nine -- The Tower’s, Floor Eight; Robin’s Apartment

Robin slowly opens the door to her apartment and steps inside and immediately is taken aback: the entire apartment is light up with candles. She panics, wondering if someone has broken into her apartment. She drops her briefcase and finds her phone in her jacket pocket. Suddenly, soft music begins to play and Cory emerges from the kitchen with a glass of champagne.

“Welcome home,” he smiles to her as he passes her a glass.

“What on earth is this?” she asks setting her glass down. “You broke into my apartment? You scared me half to death!”

Cory smiles at her, loving her when she gets feisty. “I had help from your Dad. I went to see him today.”

“My Dad?” Robin asks confused.

“I want to show you that I’m for real Robin. That we are real. You see those papers on the table?”

Robin, still sceptical, looks over at the table and in fact sees some documents. “Yea. What about them?”

“Those are my divorce papers from Natasha. Signed. We just have to mail them off and it’s official.”

“Really?” Robin asks walking over to the table. She picks them up and reads them. They confirm what Cory was telling her. “I can’t believe this.”

“Believe it baby,” Cory says approaching her again. “I love you. I want to be with you.”

Robin gets tears in her eyes. “I’ve done so many bad things Cory. You have no idea.”

“Like what?” he asks her.

“I … I tried to blackmail Sofia into helping me get you back.”

Cory laughs. “It didn’t work?”

“No,” Robin says embarrassed of her actions.

“It’s okay Robin. I know that’s who you are. I love that about you. I love how feisty you are and how you fight for everything that you want. Now, it’s my turn. I want to fight for you. I can leave right now if you want me too. But I’ll be back. I won’t stop until you know how much I love you.”

Cory turns and begins to walk over to the door. “Wait,” Robin calls out to him. He turns and rushes back over to her, their lips connecting in a passionate embrace. “I love you Cory. Make love to me,” she says in between kisses.

Cory stops and looks at her and smiles. “I love you too Robin,” he says lifting her up and carrying her into the bedroom.
