Setting: The Legal Firm; Natasha’s Office; The Parking Lot

Natasha slowly pulls into the parking lot of the legal firm. She parks her car in the parking spot, and stops. She realizes that she is about to take the first step in regaining her life. She is about to reveal herself to her co-workers. They all suffered the months she was away, dead. But she’s alive, and she wants to return to work.

How will they feel? she wonders to herself. Will they be mad at her for not returning sooner? Will they embrace her with love and affection? Only one way to find out.

Natasha slowly steps out of the car, and shuts the door. She walks towards the front door.

Scene 2
Setting: The Legal Firm; Natasha’s Office

Cory opens the door to Natasha’s office. He remembers getting the phone call to clear out Natasha’s office, and how hard he thought it would be. He realizes his thoughts are coming true. He slowly enters the office and looks around. A couple of files are on her large oak desk, laying in the center. On right corner is Natasha’s phone and a pencil holder, which has pens not pencils. In the left corner are her pictures. He slowly walks over and picks up the first photo. It’s a photo of Cory and Natasha on their wedding day. Cory slowly rubs his finger over Natasha, and tries not to cry. He places it down, and picks up the other photo. It’s a photo of Natasha’s family--Bob, Sofia, Robbie and herself.

"So many memories," he says to himself, as a tear strolls down his cheek. He puts the picture down and wipes away his tear, as he hears someone enter the office.

"Mr. Calvin, I’m so pleased you came," Jean Porter smiles at Cory. Jean is the head secretary at the legal firm.

"It’s not problem. I should be here to help you clean out her office. I have to warn you though, it may take awhile. I never realized how hard this would be," Cory replies.

Jean doesn’t reply immediately. She studies Cory. What a loving man, she thinks. How wonderful he was to Natasha. How wonderful he still is in honoring her memory.

"You can take all the time you need, Mr. Calvin."

"Cory, please."

"Cory," she smiles, and hesitates. "Please take all the time you need. I’ll be at my desk if you need anything--anything at all."

"Thank you Jean," Cory says, as she leaves the office. She slowly shuts the door behind her. Cory walks over the windows, which show into the lobby area and he pulls the blinds. He walks back over to the desk and sits behind it. He stops again. The smell of the office was familiar. He realizes of course, that it’s the smell of Natasha. The office smells of Natasha. A soft, sweet and very particular smell. Cory sits back in the leather chair and breathes the smell of his dead wife. Suddenly she feels so close to him again, as though she was with him. Another tear begins to creep in the corner of Cory’s eye. He quickly wipes it away, and sits up in the chair, letting out a sigh as he moves forward.

"Let’s get this over with," he says as he opens the top drawer of the desk.

As Cory is pulling out some papers, the door handle begins to turn. The door slowly opens. It’s Natasha! She quickly sees her husband. Startled at the sight of Cory, she shuts the door. She lets out a deep breath, almost frightened. She is about to leave, when she stops herself. She tells herself that it’s time Cory know she’s alive. She wants him to know that she’s alive. She places her hand back on the door handle and turns it. The door opens, and Natasha enters the office.

Victoria stirs and begins to open her eyes and Adam decides to awaken her with a kiss. Victoria soon awakens and welcomes the embrace, but then finally takes a chance to breathe.

"What’s wrong with you tonight?" she asks

"Nothing, I just never seen you look so beautiful, I just can’t help myself."

"In that case, continue." she purrs.

Adam then continues to kiss her and Victoria then flips him over and takes her mouth from his, using her hands to slip out of her negligee as Adam watches adoringly. When she finally slips it off, closing her eyes at the final unveiling and giving Adam a chance to appreciate the sight, she opens her eyes to a gun at her buxom.

"No, please!"

The bullet enters her lower chest as the blood begins to pour, she looks up at Adam.

Helen tries to exercise her brain for a couple of moments.

"Well, I don’t remember enough to tell you how to avoid future headaches like mine." Helen smiles.

Adam grins, "Well, what do you remember?"

Helen tries to explain the cryptic flashes of information. "I don’t know, it’s bungled. One point I am talking with you, and then I’m in some kind of library."

Adam notices the confused expression on her face, but tries to get past that obstacle. "Why don’t you try closing your eyes and then picturing what little you can remember?"

Helen is skeptical but closes her eyes anyhow and concentrates for a couple of minutes, but nothing comes to her. "Nothing. No, this is useless, if I knew something, it would come and it has not."

"I think you should at least try once more." Adam begins to press her.

Helen then becomes upset and starts to cry "I have tried, can’t you see I can’t remember."

Adam attempts to soothe her as the doctor walks in and sees Helen near tears.

"What’s going on in here?" she asks.

Adam turns to the doctor; "I was just asking her some questions about the night of her accident."

"Well, I think Helen has had enough, so I’m afraid I am going to have to ask you to leave," she orders Adam. The doctor tends to Helen as Adam sees that it is useless to argue and says good-bye to Helen, departing the room.

Helen appears and says, "Quite a beautiful justice for you too lay in a pool of blood and no one to help you just like you left me, you little witch. Why? Why? Because Adam knew seeking pleasure from you is like sleeping with a rock, cold and dead. Why did you do it?"

Her face then morphs into Meggan. "Why couldn’t you have just warned me?" Just one warning? One warning…" she pleas.

Vinny’s voice is then evident, "You know too much, I’m sorry."

Suddenly she’s making love to Adam as Helen’s voice outcries, "Do it, Shoot it." Victoria turns to Helen, "What?" and then to Adam, gasping as a bullet enters her lower chest.
