Previously On One Day At A Time Scene
1 Rebecca waits in the hole for Jason to return with help. She grabs the flashlight, and looks around. She sees nothing but walls of dirty. Suddenly Rebecca sees a weird bug on the floor. She moves over to try to step on it, but it flies up and lands on her back. Rebecca doesn’t realize that it’s on her. Suddenly she fells a tiny pain. She swats her back, killing the bug. "Stupid bug," she says. She puts her hand on her back again, and feels a bite. "I wonder what it was." Suddenly Jason returns. "Rebecca! I’ve got a ladder," he shouts. "Thank God," Rebecca says. Jason slides the ladder down the hole, and Rebecca slowly walks up. Once she reaches the ground, she embraces Jason. ~~The Next Morning!~~ Scene
2 Natasha opens the front door, and steps on the deck. She has two suitcases in her hand, and she walks over to Shane’s car. Shane is standing behind the car, with the trunk open. "Is this everything," he asks. "Yea. This is it! We’re done. And we are going home!" she beams, handing him a suitcase. Shane places both suitcases into the truck and slams it shut. "Ready to go?" he asks. "More then ready," she says walking over to the car door. "Great, let’s hit the road," he smiles. They get into the car. Shane starts it and they pull out of the driveway. Meanwhile.... Cory emerges at the stairs in the penthouse. He walks down with a duffle bag and a suitcase. Robin is at the desk, with her compact open. She applies a layer of pink lipstick to her lips. The light pink matches her top and the flowers on her white skirt. "Ready baby?" Cory asks. "Yea. I can’t wait to have you all to myself at the cabin for a few days" Robin smiles, turning to her husband. "Good. Let’s hit the road," Cory says, opening the door. Scene
3 A young nurse sits behind the small front desk. She is looking a file, and then drops it into the filing cabinet. She hears the door open, but doesn’t look up as she knows it’s the doctor. "Morning Denise," the young man says. "Good morning Steven," Denise says, looking up at the doctor. "Anything happen since last night?" Steven asks. "Yea, Mrs. Rivers brought her neighbor in." "That new lady that just moved in?" he asks. Denise nods her head. "What happened to her?" "Mrs. Rivers isn’t sure. She tried to see Miss Mills, but she didn’t answer the door. Mrs. Rivers entered and said she saw a book shelf on top of Miss Mills. She has a pretty serious head injury." "Miss Mills? Oh, Helen Miss. The teacher." "Yes." "Which cubical is Helen in?" Steven asks again, as Denise hands him Helen’s file. "Four," Denise replies. "Thanks," Steven says, putting on his lab coat. Steven opens Helen’s file as he walks to Helen’s cubical. Steven enters the cubical. Inside, Helen lays unconscious with a white bandage around her head. Steven checks Helen’s vitals. "Hmm...she should regain consciousness soon. We’ll know if there’s any permanent damage at that time." Scene
4 Adam shuts off the water to the shower. He steps out and quickly grabs a towel and begins to dry his wet body. He quickly dries off and puts on a clean pair of boxers. He enters this bedroom and sees Victoria laying in bed. His mind races back to the night before. [Flash] "You know, I’ve been thinking," Victoria says. "About what?" "Your proposal. I’ve been giving second thoughts....and if it’s still on the table, I want to accept. I want to marry you and become your wife." [End of Flash] "Why now Victoria?" Adam thinks to himself, as he watches her sleep. Adam walks over to his closet and pulls out a pair of blue jeans. He puts them on and finds a white T-shirt as well. He enters the kitchen and turns on the TV. As he puts on some coffee, he hears a news reporter come on. "In White Cove, a local teacher was taken to the medical clinic with a serious head injury. The young teacher, Miss Helen Miss, is said to be in serious condition. Doctors could not confirm anything." Adam stops and glares at the TV. "I can’t believe this!" he says. He grabs his keys from the counter and rushes out the door, slamming it as he leaves. In the bedroom, the door slamming shut causes Victoria to stir. She tosses and opens her eyes. "Adam?" she calls. When no one responds, Victoria sits up. "Where is he?" she wonders. Scene
5 Leah enters the kitchen, with her briefcase in hand. She sets it down on the floor, and walks up behind Robbie, who is pouring a cup of coffee. "Good morning," she says, wrapping her arms around him. He turns around, and kisses her. "Morning," he says, getting a look of sadness of his face. "I was hoping you’d still be undressed." Leah smiles. "Sorry. I’ve got to get to the office. Duty calls, you know." "I’m going to have to talk to Dad about cutting you some slack," Robbie jokes. "Speaking of Bob and Sofia, have you heard from them lately?" Leah asks pouring herself some coffee. "No, but I will call them later. Any reason why?" "Nope. Just say hello to them from me," Leah smiles. "Anyways, I really have to go. I have a meeting in 10 minutes." Robbie walks over to Leah and kisses her again. "No speeding. Or I’ll call the cops." he smiles. Leah giggles, "I love you too" she smiles. "Before you go, I think we need to have a serious talk when you get home," Robbie says. Leah stops. "About what?" "Having a baby," he smiles. Leah freezes. "Really?" she gulps. "Yea. But we'll talk when you get home, ok?" "OK," Leah says quietly. Scene
6 Shane and Natasha are driving on the highway. The highway has almost been empty, with the exception of a few cars. Suddenly they pass a car, which looks familiar to Natasha. ‘My God! That was Cory’s car!’ she thinks to herself. In Cory’s car, Cory thinks he seen Shane’s car. "Was that Shane?" Cory asks aloud. "Shane Glubbs? No I don’t think so," Robin replies. Scene
7 Jason and Rebecca awake in each other’s arms. "Morning," he says. "Good morning to my wonderful hero," Rebecca smiles, as she moves closer and kisses Jason. Jason puts his arm around Rebecca, and his hand touches her back. He quickly pulls out of the kiss. "Something’s on your back," he says. "What?" Rebecca says, alarmed. She sits up, and turns her back to Jason. "Do you see anything?" she asks. "My God Rebecca! You have a huge welt, or something on your back." Suddenly Rebecca realizes that weird bite that she got on her back the night before. "Something bite me when I was in the pit," she says. "I thought it was a mosquito, or something." "Maybe we should get you to the hospital, just to check it out," he says. "Good idea," she replies. Scene
8 Daisy sits behind her desk. She looks around her new office, and smiles. ’This is what I’ve worked for my entire life,’ she realizes. Her happy thoughts are interrupted by a knock on the door. "Come in," she calls. The door opens and Vinny enters her office. "Good morning Miss Mayor," he says, sitting on her sofa. "Good morning to you too Mr. Victors. And what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?" "First of all, fill me in on what happened with Chris and Danielle. There has been no news coverage of the mayors evil twin sister." he cracks. "And there won’t be. Chris wanted to have her arrested, but I knew it would hurt my career. So we told her to leave town--or else. I don’t expect to hear from my sister ever again," she says. Vinny nods, impressed. "Which brings us to your visit," Daisy says. "I’ve come to collect on our deal," Vinny replies. "You owe me...big time." "What exactly do you want Vinny?" "I’d thought you’d never ask," he smiles. Scene
9 Chris sits at his desk, looking at his computer screen. He stares at the screen, but his mind is elsewhere. He remembers the night before, making love to Daisy. ‘Something was different,’ he says to himself. ‘Something was missing.’ His thoughts are interrupted with his phone ringing. "Chris Michaels," he says, picking up his phone. "Chris, it’s Danielle." "Danielle! What the hell are you doing calling me? I thought we told you...." "I know, please let me explain," she interrupts him. Chris sighs. "You have five minutes before I’m hanging up." "Thank you," she begins. "I’ve missed you. I know you’ve missed me as well. I know what I did was wrong, but you know why I did what I did. Daisy has always been the perfect person. Or at least she’s tried to act that way. But I think you saw something else in me. And you felt it when we made love. And it was wonderful. Making love. I’m sure you’ve seen the difference in Daisy and myself. Something is missing now...isn’t it Chris." "Are you done? Too bad," he says, not giving her a chance to answer. "Cause I’m done listening," Chris says, slamming the phone down. Chris puts his hands over his face. "What’s wrong with me?" he asks. Meanwhile, Danielle hangs up the pay phone and smiles. "This is far from over," she smiles, holding her stomach. Scene
10 Jason waits with Rebecca, as she sits in exam room. "Can you do me favor?" she asks. "Anything." "Please call my sister, Robin. Here’s her cell number. I want her here with me," Rebecca says, handing him a piece of paper. "Sure," he replies. Suddenly Victoria enters the exam room. Jason leaves. Victoria moves behind Rebecca and looks at the welt on her back. Outside...Jason dials Robin’s cell phone. She picks up in the car. "Hello," she says. "Robin?" "Yes. Who is this?" "This is Jason. I’m Rebecca’s boyfriend." "Why are you calling? Is something wrong?" Robin asks, getting concerned. "We aren’t sure. She’s in the hospital getting checked out. She wanted me to call you." "We are on our way!" Robin says, hanging up. Robin turns to Cory. "We have to turn around. Rebecca’s in the hospital." Cory is stunned. "I hope she’s alright," he says, as he turns the car around. Scene 11 Kim sits in her office, looking over notes for her article in the following day’s newspaper. Suddenly Jackson enters the office. "Are you busy?" he asks. Kim gets up. "Depends on what you want," she replies. "Nothing really. Just to talk." "Jackson, I think we’ve said everything there is to say." "No, Kim. Please. Hear me out." "Fine," she replies. "But make it quick." "I don’t know where to begin. You know that I’m seeking therapy. I’ve been through a lot. I’ve put you through a lot. I’ve put everyone through a lot. I don’t know where to go, or what to do anymore. I’m just....I’m trying to say....I’m sorry." Jackson says slowly. Kim gets a small tear in her eye, but tries to hide it. She walks over to him, and hugs him. A stunned Jackson responds to the embrace. "That’s all I’ve wanted to hear," she whispers. They are interrupted when Robbie enters. "What the hell is going on here?" Robbie demands. "I’ve warned you Jackson! I told you to stay away from Kim, or you’ll regret it." Robbie grabs Jackson, and pushes him up against the wall. "Robbie! No! You don’t understand!" Kim yells, as she tries to pull Robbie off Jackson. Robbie lets Jackson go. "I’m outta here," Jackson replies leaving. Robbie turns to Kim. "What the hell were you thinking?" "You don’t understand! No one understands!" Kim replies. "You know what Kim, you’re right. This man locked you in a cage. He violated you in a way that’s unforgivable. And you’re hugging him? You don’t make sense. And I’m done trying to help you," Robbie spits, as he leaves the office. Kim falls back into her chair, tears streaming down her face. Scene
12 Shane pulls into the parking lot. "Why are we hear?" Natasha asks. "I’ll be just a minute," Shane says. "I just have to get my messages. You can come in, if you want." "Yea, ok. But I hope no one recognizes me." "We will go in the back way, so no one will," Shane assures her. They exit the car and walk into the hospital. They quickly find an elevator. Scene
13 Victoria exits the exam room. Jason approaches her. "How’s Rebecca?" he asks. "She’s fine. I’m going to lab to have the tests run. You can go in and see her." Victoria walks off. She turns the corner, and sees the elevator door open. Out comes Shane and Natasha! "Oh my God!" Victoria says. "Natasha?! Is that really you?" "Shhh!" Shane says, covering Victoria’s mouth. "Promise not to say anything?" he asks. Victoria nods her head, so Shane lets her go. "We’ll explain everything later, but right now we have to get to my office," Shane says. Scene 14 Leah sits at her desk typing on her computer. She hears her door open and someone enter. "Robbie, I told you I’m busy today," she says, not looking away from her computer. "It’s not Robbie," a man’s voice says. Leah freezes. She knows the voice. "Jeff?" Leah asks. She slowly turns and sees Jeff standing in front of her. "My God! It is you! What the hell are you doing here?" she demands to know. "Is that anyway to say hello to you ex-husband?" Jeff asks. Leah glares at him. "What do you want?" "Someone needs to see you. It’s been far too long." Jeff says as a young boy enters the office. "This is Noah...our son!" Leah is floored as the 10 year old boy enters her office. Scene
15 Adam arrives at the clinic. Denise spots him and smiles. "May I help you sir?" she asks. "Yes, I need to see Helen Mills. I’m her good friend." Adam says. "We’ve been waiting for someone to come for her," Denise says, getting up from behind the desk. "Follow me, I’ll take you to her." Adam follows Denise to Helen’s cubical. Denise pulls the curtain back. Steven looks up. "Do you know Miss Mills?" Steven asks. "Yea. How is she?" Adam asks. "We won’t know until she awakes. But she should be awaking anytime." Suddenly Helen stirs. Slowly her eyes open. "Great timing," Steven says. "Helen? Can you hear me?" Helen blinks, but doesn’t say anything. "Helen, it’s me Adam," Adam says grabbing her hand. Helen still remains unresponsive. "Why isn’t she responding?" Adam demands to know. "Give her time," Steven says. Suddenly Helen looks around. "Who are you?" she says slowly. "Where am I?" Scene
16 Robin enters the hospital, as Cory parks the car. She quickly hopes on to an elevator and goes up to the correct floor. Robin steps off the elevator and rushes down the hallway. She turns and realizes that she’s gone the wrong direction. "Great, I’m in the doctor’s offices. Not the patient exam rooms," she says to herself. Robin turns the corner, and stops in her steps. Standing in front of her is Natasha. Robin gasps is shock as her husbands dead wife stands in front of her. Next
