Scene One - An Abandoned Farm House, Lake Tahoe

Leah looks in horror as Felicia bends over in front of the fire place and starts to put some of the wood logs inside. Leah takes another breath in from her nose; the smell of gas seems stronger than ever before. She looks back at her mother and knows that she has to stop her mother from starting this fire or the entire farm house will explode.

"Mom, please, listen to me," Leah says as tears start to stroll down her face. "Mom!"

Felicia turns and looks up at her daughter. "Don't worry darling, I'm going to start this fire and we will be warm. Then we can talk, we can have our mother and daughter talk the way you have wanted."

Felicia returns to the fire she is trying to start. She places one more log inside the fireplace and then she grabs the matches. She lights the match as Leah screams in horror.

Suddenly, the front door of the farm house opens and Robbie enters the house, his gun drawn.

"Oh Robbie, thank God!" Leah cries from her chair as a startled Felicia drops the lit match down on to the logs. "There's a gas leak and Felicia is starting a fire."

Robbie looks around and spots the open gas line. "I need something to stop the gas from leaking!" he says to them as Felicia wonders what's happening.

"There's no time Robbie!" Leah tells him, as she notices the log start to catch on fire. "The entire house is going to explode. We have to get out of here."

"Jesus," Robbie says, trying to take it all in. "Okay, I'm going to carry you out. I don't have time to untie you."

"Get my mother out of the house first," Leah tells him, desperate for him to act quickly. "I'll be fine. Just hurry back and come get me."

Robbie looks down at her. "I'll be right back," he tells her. "Don't worry, you'll be fine."

Leah nods her head back to him. "Thank you for saving me. I prayed someone would come and get me."

Robbie moves over to Felicia and picks her up over his shoulder. "Put me down!" she screams as she fails to understand what is happening. Robbie reaches the door and looks back. "Hang tight, I'll be right back Leah."

Scene Two - Twin Peaks General Hospital; Shane's Office

Shane sits at his desk with his hands over his face. He hates the aspect of being a doctor where he has to give bad news and just a short while ago, he knows that he had to tell Reese that his cancer was back and that he had about 5 weeks to live; 8 at the very most. He knows that Reese is a young man, so the fact that he had to give Reese this news is hard for him.

He doesn't hear his office door open. "Knock, knock," a voice says as she stands at the door.

Shane looks up and sees Helen. He smiles at the sight of his friend. "Helen, hey, you're home," he says as she comes into the office, not realizing she was back from meeting her parents.

"Thanks. You look a million miles away, is everything okay?" Helen tells him as she comes up and sits across from him.

Shane sighs and looks at his friend. "There are some tough moments in this job. I've just had a long day," he reveals to her. "How are you doing? How was meeting your parents?"

Helen nods back to him. "It was … interesting," she says back to him. "I think my father is an interesting fellow. He is a smoker and he is overweight and he doesn't treat my mother very well. I'm actually rather nervous for Adam to meet them."

"Well, no one is perfect including your parents. As for being nervous, I think it's natural. I have a hunch that Adam is just as nervous, this is all so new for all of you."

"I'm scared that he is resenting me for finding my parents," Helen admits to him.

"He doesn't resent you," Shane tells her. "He will be great with your parents but you have to be giving him a fair chance."

Helen nods back to him. "You're right," she says. "I do have to give Adam a chance, you're right. Thank you for listening to me."

"I'm always here for you Helen, that's what friends are for."

Scene Three - The Pampa Grill

"Hey, I'm surprised to see you here," Adam tells Natasha, as he comes up to the bar when he sees her sitting alone. He gives his friend a quick hug before he sits next to her. "How come you're eating lunch alone?"

Natasha looks at her friend and picks up her club soda. "I was hungry since I'm eating for two and thought I would just pop over from the legal firm," she tells him. "How about you?"

"Just on a break from school," he tells her. "Mind if I eat with you?"

"Of course not," Natasha smiles back to him. "I'll enjoy the company. How did it go with Helen's family?"

Adam sighs and thinks about Helen telling him about her parents and how she doesn't like how her father speaks to her mother. "It seemed to be okay," he tells her. "She has issues with how her Dad talks to her mother but otherwise it seemed to be a good reunion."

Natasha tilts her head a little. "Why do I get the feeling you're still not sure about this?"

"I don't know," Adam says back to her. "There's just something I can't put my finger on. I feel like she's holding back with something about this entire thing."

"Have you asked her about it?" Natasha asks him.

Adam shakes his head. "I was going too but we were interrupted with Dawn surprising us and coming home."

"Dawn is home?" Natasha asks surprised. "That's exciting."

"She's a beautiful young woman now," Adam tells her. "Anyways, what's going on with you?"

"I guess I'm feeling like I'm in a similar boat as you are," Natasha reveals to her friend.

"Like Shane isn't telling you something?"

"No," she says to him. "That he isn't really letting me in the way I wanted him to let me in. He wants to apply for the Chief of Staff position at the hospital when Eva leaves in November and I have expressed my concern about this but he doesn't seem to understand my point of view."

Adam looks back at her and grabs her hand. "Do you remember the night of your wedding when we were dancing and you gave me some advice about Helen?" he asks her as she nods her head and gets some tears in her eyes. "I'm going to give you the same advice … keep talking to him and everything will work out."

Natasha smiles back to him as a tear falls from her eye. She pulls him into a hug. "Thank you for that Adam."

Scene Four - Twin Peaks General Hospital; Reese's Room

"Do they know exactly what caused you to faint yet?" Madeline asks her brother as she sits next to his hospital bed.

Reese looks up at his sister and feels his heart break inside his chest. How is he going to tell his twin that his cancer is back and that he only has a few weeks to live? He can barely understand it himself because he was just told that he was in remission a month or so ago.

"I'm guessing that they have and you don't want to tell me anything," Madeline tells him as she notes that he hasn't said anything yet and she can see something in his eyes.

"The good news is that I should be able to leave the hospital soon," Reese finally tells her. "I'm hoping today but it may not be until tomorrow. And I really want you to take some time off work and be with me at home."

Madeline arches her eyebrow, knowing that something must be going on if Reese wants her to spend more time at home. "You want me to take time off? Okay, now I know something is up Reese. Please tell me what the doctors have said to you," she pleads with him.

He bites his lip as he feels it start to quiver. "I don't know how to tell you this."

"Just tell me Reese," she tells him. "Is it your cancer?"

Reese nods back to her. "It's back," he finally tells her. "And it's bad Madeline. It's really bad."

Madeline shakes her head in disbelief. "I thought they told you that you were in remission. How did this happen?"

Reese shrugs as water fills his eyes. "Apparently with cancer you can never be sure of anything. I was in remission but now it's back and it's worse than ever before."

"How bad is bad?" she asks him. "Are you going to start chemo again?"

"Shane didn't think that would be for the best," he reveals to her. "He told me that …"

"What Reese? What exactly did he say?" she feels herself getting worked up over the news that Reese is telling her.

"I don't have long Madeline," he finally whispers to her as a tear falls from his eye. "I'm going to die."

Madeline shakes her head as a tear falls from her eye. She grabs her brother's hand. "No," she says back to him. "I refuse to believe that. I'm not going to lose you Reese."

"I only have 4 or 5 weeks, Shane said 8 at the most. Please," Reese pleads with her. "Please tell me that you can take time off work and be with me."

"I'm not leaving your side. I'm right here Reese," she says as she hugs him, still reeling from his news. "I'm not going to leave you."

Scene Five - The Cascade Apartments, Apartment 307; Donovan's Apartment

Donovan quickly moves to the front door of his apartment when he hears a knock on the front door. He isn't expecting anyone this afternoon so whoever it is at the door will be a surprise for Donovan. He opens the door and sees Andy standing on the other side of it.

"Andy, what brings you by? Please come in," Donovan tells his friend, as Andy moves into the apartment.

"Thanks, sorry I didn't call or anything," Andy says as he moves into the living room.

"It's okay," Donovan replies to him. "I've been meaning to call you, anyways. I wanted to find out how Reese is doing. The last time I saw you was last night at the engagement party and he fainted. I'm hoping everything is okay."

Donovan looks at Andy, who puts his head down. It then dawns on Donovan that something isn't right with Andy. He's pale, has large bags under his eyes and looks like he hasn't slept much.

"Everything is okay, isn't it Andy?" Donovan asks him as he moves closer to his friend.

Andy looks up and is unable to stop himself from crying. Donovan hugs his friend. "My God, what is it? What has happened to Reese?"

"It's his cancer," Andy says as more tears run down his face. "It's back and it's bad Donovan," he tells his friend as they exit their embrace. "They've given him, at most, two months to live but they suspect that it will be sooner than that."

Donovan shakes his head in disbelief. "This doesn't make sense. I can't believe it."

"Neither can I," Andy admits to him. "I was with Reese when we got the news. I tried to be strong but as soon as I left his room I broke down. I don't know how to be strong right now when the love of my life is dying. I don't know what to do."

"Is Reese alone right now?" Donovan asks him, as they move to the sofa so Andy can get of his feet.

"No, Madeline is with him now," Andy replies to him.

"That's good, neither of you should be alone right now," Donovan tells him. "Can I get you anything? Do you need anything?"

Andy shakes his head. "Unless you can tell me that this is all just a bad dream?" Andy says back to him. "I think I just need my friends right now. I don't want to be alone."

"Of course," Donovan replies. "Do Kim and Trenyce know? Let me call them. You don't have to be alone right now Andy."

Andy gives him half a smile before Donovan stands up and moves to find his cell phone. He lets out a heavy sigh as he starts to dial a number.

Scene Six - Wild Night

Even though it's mid-afternoon, Trenyce sits at a table in the night club having a drink with Lukas. The two decided to go out and try to have some fun to take their mind off Reese fainting at the engagement party the previous night. If Trenyce is honest with herself, she has learned to enjoy Lukas' company a great deal and since he is new in town she suspects he feels the same about her.

"This was a good idea," she smiles to him as she picks up her vodka soda. "Why haven't I drank in the afternoon more often?"

He laughs and picks up his beer. "North America has such a different culture," he tells her. "When I was in Europe, most people had a drink or two during lunch. People seem much more stuffy here."

"I'm sure growing up in Santa Barbara people drank at lunch all the time as well," Trenyce says back to him. "I mean, you're in the California wine region and all."

"I grew up on a winery, actually," Lukas reveals to her. "My father, of course, never did the growing of the grapes or anything but we had people do that for him. My mother was involved in the design of the wine bottle labels and everything."

"How interesting," Trenyce says. "Does your family still produce the wine?"

Lukas nods his head back to her. "We do. I haven't been back to the winery in a very long time."

"Is there any specific reason as to why?"

Lukas pauses and wonders if he should reveal to her that he is gay and the large part of the reason he went to Europe was to escape his parents so they didn't have to find out the truth. Frederick, of course, went to Switzerland shortly after as well for his medical career but Lukas still kept his distance from him. Before Lukas can say anything, a man catches his eye.

Trenyce notices Lukas looking at the bar and turns over and sees Johnny sitting by himself. "Do you know him?" Trenyce asks him, drawing his attention back to her.

Lukas shakes his head no. "But he's sitting alone, you should go say hello. You never know what could happen."

Trenyce laughs. "You're kidding me, right? Do you see that guy? He's gorgeous. He would never want to have a drink with me."

"Why not? You're beautiful, smart and funny," Lukas tries to encourage her. "Any guy would be lucky to have a drink with you."

"Aren't you sweet," Trenyce smiles back to him as her cell phone starts to ring. "Excuse me for a moment," she says as she grabs her phone. "Hello? … Donovan, hi, what's up? …. What? My God … Yes, I will be right there."

Lukas arches his eyebrow as he hears her side of the conversation. "Bad news?"

Trenyce feels her heart sink as she just learned about Reese's condition. "I have to go, I'm so sorry, can I get a rain cheque for another drink?"

"Absolutely," he replies to her. "I hope everything works out."

Scene Seven - The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Lake Tahoe; Suite 578

"Thanks for letting us stay in your suite while we wait to hear something about Leah," Jeff tells Victoria, as he paces around the suite.

"Of course," Victoria replies to him. "I know that we had to leave your suite because it was an official crime scene now. I'm just surprised that we haven't heard from Robbie already. I thought that he would have tracked Leah and Felicia down and brought them back already."

"Unless something has happened," Jeff says back to her and Dominick.

"I hope you're right," Jeff says.

Before anyone can say anything else, there is a knock on the door. Victoria looks at them before she starts walking to the door. They all hold their breath as they wonder if the person at the door has news about Robbie, Leah and Felicia. When she opens the door, she sees Eva on the other side.

"Mom? What on earth are you doing here?" Victoria asks as she hugs Eva and then lets her into the suite.

"Eva," Dominick says, seeing his girlfriend. "I agree with Victoria, what are you doing here?"

"You really didn't expect me to sit at home while you guys were here worried about Leah and Felicia, did you?" she says as she purses her lips. "I caught the earliest flight that got here as soon as I could."

Dominick smiles and moves up to her giving her a hug. "You have no idea how much I appreciate this," Dominick tells her.

"So what is the latest? Has Robbie tracked down Leah and Felicia yet?" Eva asks everyone as she exits her embrace with Robbie.

"We are still waiting to hear from her," Jeff reveals to her. "I'm worried, we should have heard something by now."

"We will Jeff, have faith in that," Victoria tells him.

"I'm trying Victoria," Jeff replies to her. "But the longer we go without hearing something, the more I think something bad has happened. Something very, very bad."

Scene Eight - An Abandoned Farm House, Lake Tahoe

"Stop squirming!" Robbie yells to Felicia as he runs out of the house with her over his shoulder. "I have to go back at get Leah."

Robbie finally gets about 100 yards away from the house and he puts Felicia down. Once her feet are planted, she looks at him and slaps him across the face. "How dare you!" she screams at him.

"You're forgiven for that one," he yells back at her as he points his finger at her. "You stay here, I have to go back and get Leah before the gas hits the fire!"

Robbie turns around and starts to run back to the house. He looks up for a moment and he sees the entire farm house explode into flames! He hears Felicia scream behind him as he yells, "Leah! No! Oh my God! Leah!"
