Scene One - Twin Peaks Police Department

“What do you have for me Garrison?” Lois Kam asks officer Ryan Garrison as he walks up to her desk at the police station. Lois doesn’t have any family in town, nor is she married so she always works on Christmas Day. As Officer Garrison approaches her desk, he wishes that she would realize that others do have families would appreciate the day off.

He sighs and looks at her. “We found Moretti’s shoes in a dumpster,” he tells her. “They are Donovan Moretti’s. We ran a DNA test. The bottom of the shoes match the print we found at the scene of Ernesto’s death.”

Lois gets a huge smile on her face. “That’s great news. We can now place Donovan at the scene of the crime.”

“There’s no proof that he was wearing the shoes,” Garrison tells her back, but she wants to hear none of it.

“I also found a waitress at the Pampa Grill that will testify that she overheard an argument between Donovan and Ernesto just a few weeks before his death,” Lois tells her officer.

“What did the waitress over hear?”

Lois looks at him with a grin on her face. “It seems like Daddy dearest didn’t approve of Donovan’s life choices.”

“What does that mean?” Garrison asks confused.

“Donovan is gay. Ernesto didn’t approve.”

Garrison nods his head. “So, Donovan had motive.”

“Bingo,” Lois smiles back to him.

Scene Two - Dominick’s Townhouse

“Remember you have to make my eggnog a virgin!” Robin smiles over to Dominick, who is heading into the kitchen to refresh everyone’s beverages on Christmas day. She loves that she has to remind him of the baby; it is the best gift she could have received this holiday season.

Dominick turns around and looks at his daughter, “How could I possibly forget?”

Leah comes over to her sister and gives her a quick hug. “I can’t tell you how happy I am for you Robin. Becoming a mother will be the greatest gift in the world.”

Robin looks over at Paige, who is playing on the ground with some of her new toys that she got. “I can’t wait to see Paige and my baby playing together Leah. I hope they are as close as you and I are.”

“I know they will be,” Leah replies to her. While the two sisters didn’t always see eye to eye, they have become so close. Leah loves having her sister to lean on.

“I haven’t asked you how you are holding up considering everything that happened with Robbie,” Robin says to her, recalling how Paige’s paternity came out and Robbie walked out on her. “So, are you okay?”

Leah nods her head back to her. “It all happened to fast, you know? For awhile there, I felt like my head was spinning. Robbie found out the truth and practically disowned me.”

“You know he was just acting out in hurt and pain. Not that I’m excusing his behaviour.”

“I know. I think it’s all for the best. Jeff and I,” Leah continues to tell Robin, as her eyes move to Jeff. “We’ve started to grow closer again. I think there’s a reason that since Noah’s death I have been pulled towards him. I think we were always meant to be together.”

Robin arches her eyebrow, surprised Leah is moving forward so quickly. “You two do seem to be a nice fit together.”

Leah smiles. “Yea, and I really want him to get to know Paige and have the chance to be a father to her. He deserves that. I’m just happy that he’s giving me the chance to make it up to him. Robbie was devastated when the truth came out, but so was Jeff. He lost a lot of years with his daughter too.”

Robin nods back to her sister. “Just don’t rush into anything. You’ve been through so much lately. I don’t want to see you hurt again.”

***

Cory and Jeff stand together by the fire place and watch Paige play with her new toys that she got from Santa. “Soon, this will be your life too,” Jeff tells Cory as he looks up at his friend.

Cory laughs a little. “I can’t wait. I never thought I would be so excited to be a father, but once the reality sets in, you just have this amazing feeling.”

Jeff nods. “It is amazing, to create this life. Make sure you cherish every moment of it. You never know what will happen”

Cory notices that Jeff is getting a little misty in his eyes. “Hey, are you okay?”

Jeff nods again. “Yea, sorry. I guess on days like today, I can’t help but think about Noah. He would be turning into such a young man by now.”

“Jeff,” Cory replies to him, trying to realize how painful it would be to lose a child. “Always keep your memories fresh and try to keep focused on Paige.”

“That’s exactly what I’m doing,” Jeff replies to him with a smile on his face, knowing that he does feel very blessed to have given a second chance at father hood with Paige.

Dominick comes back to into living room with a tray full of eggnogs. “This one is for Robin, the virgin one,” he winks over at her as he passes out all the eggnogs to everyone. “I’d like to make a toast,” he says after everyone has their glasses. “To our family. Merry Christmas and I hope we can all be as happy as we are today all of the next year.”

“Merry Christmas,” Leah replies as they all raise the glasses for the toast.

Scene Three - The Black House; Adam, Helen & Dawn’s Home

“Daddy!” Dawn squeals in delight as she sees her new doll that she got for Christmas.

“Do you like your new doll?” Adam asks his daughter, as he sits on the floor with her, as a bunch of new toys are scattered on the ground around him. “You must have been a very good girl because Santa brought you a lot of goodies.”

“I like her,” Dawn says about her doll that she’s holding.

“Dawn, how about you put dolly in her bed and you clean up some of your toys. We don’t need to have them scattered every where,” Helen says from the sofa, as Dawn starts to clean up some of her other toys.

“There’s still one more present under the Christmas tree,” Adam says looking at his wife as he reaches under the tree to grab a small box.

“What is it?” Helen asks, not realizing there was another gift.

Adam stands up and moves over to the sofa to sit next to his wife. “It’s a little something that I picked up for you.”

Helen smiles back at her husband and grabs his hand, “You shouldn’t have.”

“Yes, I should have. After everything we’ve been through, we deserve this Helen. I’m just still so sorry that I didn’t realize what was going on sooner. I can’t imagine the hell you went through in that cage.”

Helen feels her eyes swell with water, recalling how hard it was in the cage for almost close to a year while Cassie was impersonating her. Adam looks at her and can see that she is emotional. Suddenly, he recalls the other day at the hospital when he went to visit Cassie and she announced that she is pregnant. He can’t help but remember that he slept with her right before the truth came out, thinking that she was Helen. He knows that he can’t tell Helen about that today, it would be too much for her to handle. He can’t help but wonder if he is the father of the child. He scolds himself at the thought. It is impossible, he tells him.

“Open it,” Adam tells her, turning their attention back to the box.

Helen starts to unwrap the present and she sees a small black box. She opens the box and gasps. “Oh Adam,” she says as she looks at the silver chain with hearts surrounded in diamonds. In the middle there is a large sapphire. “It’s beautiful.”

“The sapphire is Dawn’s birth stone,” he reveals to her. “Notice how it covers only half the heart?” he asks as she nods. “I was hoping we could give her a brother or sister and put their birth stone on the other half.”

Helen looks at her husband and leans in and kisses him, “I love you so much.”

“I love you too Helen, more than you’ll ever know,” he whispers back to her. “Merry Christmas.”

“Merry Christmas Adam,” she smiles at him, loving that her life has returned to normal. She has missed this more than she can describe.

Scene Four - The Towers, Floor Eight; Eva’s Condo

“I want to thank you guys for coming here today,” Eva tells Victoria and Donovan as they sit at the small table, each having a glass of wine. “I know this year hasn’t exactly been ideal for us, but I think we are finally on the right track in terms of being a real family.”

Victoria takes a drink of her red wine and smiles. “It helps having that dark cloud that was hovering over us gone,” she comments thinking that Ernesto dying was a blessing in disguise. She’s especially happy because the charges against her were dropped after the medical exam came back that she couldn’t have possibly have killed her father because she was drugged.

“And the charges against you were dropped, which is reason in itself to celebrate,” Donovan replies to her, knowing that he is happy they don’t have to worry about that any longer. “Where is Robbie today?”

Victoria looks over at Eva and then back at Donovan. “He’s at the hospital. After everything that has happened, he wanted to be with Natasha and Bob today.”

“That’s completely understandable,” Eva replies to them. “In fact, I even heard from Natasha earlier today. She called and wished me a Merry Christmas.”

Donovan can see how much Natasha’s phone call meant to Eva. “All of your children reached out to you today, you must be happy.”

Eva nods back to him. “I couldn’t have asked for anything else this Christmas. This is all I’ve ever wanted.”

They are interrupted by a knock on the front door. “I wonder who that could be?” Eva says as she stands up and walks over to the front door. She opens it and sees Lois Kam and Officer Ryan Garrison standing on the other side, “Can I help you?”

“We hate to interrupt your Christmas,” Lois begins to say to her. “But is Donovan Moretti here today?”

Donovan appears behind Eva. “What’s going on?”

“Donovan Moretti?” Garrison starts to say as he comes into the apartment. “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.”

“What’s all of this about?” Victoria asks, shocked that her brother is getting arrested on Christmas Day.

“Your brother is being charged for the murder of Ernesto Moretti. We have uncovered new evidence that links him to the murder,” Lois reveals as Donovan is removed from the apartment.

Eva turns to Donovan as they start to walk him to the elevator. “We will get out of this Donovan. We know that you didn’t kill Ernesto!” she cries as the elevator door opens and Garrison, Lois and Donovan get in.

“Don’t worry about me,” he replies to his mother. “I’ll be fine. I’m fine!”

The elevator doors close and Eva turns to Victoria. They quickly move into a hug. “He’s innocent,” Eva keeps repeating to Victoria.

“I know,” Victoria replies to her. “We will make sure this doesn’t go very far. They are just desperate to pin this on someone. Once we prove it, the charges will be dropped just like mine were.”

“I hope you’re right,” Eva cries into her daughter’s shoulder. “I really hope you’re right. I just can’t believe they did this on Christmas day.”

Scene Five - Twin Peaks General Hospital; Trenyce’s Room

“Thank you so much for bringing Andrew here today,” Trenyce smiles to Daisy, as she holds her son as she sits in the chair by the window. “I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t get to spend Christmas with my son.”

“I know,” Daisy replies to her niece. “I would never want Andrew to miss his mother today either. The good news is that the doctors are saying you’re getting your strength back.”

Trenyce nods at her. “You hear that Andrew? Mommy will get to come home soon.”

Andrew looks at his mom with a smile on his face and hugs her. “I love you Mommy!”

Trenyce feels her eyes swell with water as she hugs Andrew back. “I love you too baby. More than you’ll ever know.”

They are interrupted by the hospital door opening, Andy and Craig come in to the room wearing Santa hats. “Merry Christmas!” they say in unison. “We aren’t interrupting, are we?” Andy then asks everyone.

“Not at all,” Daisy replies to them. “What brings you guys by?”

“We couldn’t pass up visiting you guys on Christmas,” Craig replies to them.

Andy moves over to Trenyce, “How are you holding up?”

“I’m fine,” Trenyce says through some tears in her eyes. “I’m just feeling very blessed. To have friends like you guys and an amazing family.”

“We are the lucky ones Trenyce, you have brought so much to our life,” Andy replies to her as he hugs her. “You know I love you right?”

Trenyce nods back to him as they hug. “How is Kim doing? We heard what happened. It’s unbelievable.”

“She’ …” Andy begins to say, knowing that his sister is touch and go right now. “I just came from seeing her. There’s no change.”

“Oh Andy,” Daisy tells him. “We are all praying for her.”

“I know, and thank you,” he says with half a smile on his face. “We are here to celebrate the holiday though. Kim would want everyone to have a good day. She would want us to celebrate, especially with Andrew.”

“You’re so brave Andy,” Trenyce tells him as she covers her mouth, getting tears in her eyes.

“So you are Trenyce. More than you’ll ever know,” he winks back to her. “Okay! Who wants a present?” he asks as he turns his attention to Andrew.

***

“Have I told you how good it is to see you,” Robbie says over to Natasha, as they sit side by side in the waiting room of the hospital. “I really missed you while you were …”

Natasha looks over at him with a slight smile. “I’d rather now get into that again. But it is nice to see you too Robbie. I was so scared I might never see my family again.”

“It’s not exactly the most ideal place to spend Christmas, is it?” Robbie replies to her, thinking about how usually they are at the Calimo mansion.

“How are you holding up?” she asks him as she grabs his hand. “I can’t imagine today is an easy day for you. I’m still shocked to hear everything that went down while I was in that cage.”

Robbie shakes his head and covers his eyes. “Yea, it’s not easy today. I was looking forward to spending Christmas with Paige today more than ever. She’s at the perfect age that it would have been awesome to see her face light up over all the presents.”

“Robbie, can I do anything?” Natasha asks her brother knowing that he’s in pain today over the truth that Jeff is Paige’s biological father.

“There’s nothing no one can do,” he replies to her. “Nothing can change the truth or the fact that Leah lied for years about this.”

“I still can’t believe she did that, you know?” Natasha replies to him. “What the hell was she thinking?”

They are interrupted by Bob coming back into the waiting room. “How is Kim?” Robbie asks his father, who looks tired and drained.

Bob looks at his children. “There’s no change,” he quietly replies, still hoping that Kim wakes up from her coma sooner rather than later. “I was thinking. Maybe we could all go down and be with her for awhile. The doctor said it was okay if we do that today because it’s Christmas. Maybe all of us together can will her into coming out of this coma.”

Natasha nods back to him. “I’m game for that. Come on Robbie,” she says as she stands up and looks to grab Robbie’s hand.

Bob smiles at the sight of his children rallying around him and his new wife as they haven’t always been supportive of his relationship with Kim. “I am so lucky to have you guys in my life,” he says to them as he moves up and hugs Natasha and then Robbie.

“We love you Daddy,” Natasha tells him. “Where else would we be?”

“She’s right Dad,” Robbie says. “Families stick together when times get rough. We are always here for you, you have to know that.”

“I know that now,” Bob says clearing his throat. “Merry Christmas guys.”

“Merry Christmas Daddy,” Natasha replies. “Let’s go down and see Kim.”

***

Kim lays in her bed laying perfectly still as her respirator still pumps air into her lungs. Bob, Robbie and Natasha slowly enter the room and look at her.

Natasha looks at her father and places her hand on his shoulder realizing how painful it must be to see your spouse in this status.

“Kimberly,” Bob whispers to her. “We are all here for you. We are all rooting for you to wake up and come back to us.”

“Kim,” Natasha says next to her friend. “You saved my life. I owe you so much,” Natasha continues as she bites her trembling lip. “Please wake up so I can thank you. And wish you a Merry Christmas.”

Suddenly, Robbie notices Kim’s eye lids start to flutter. “Look!” he points as they look on in amazement as slowly Kim’s start to open.

Bob gets tears in his eyes as he moves over to Kim’s side. “Thank God you’re awake, you’re coming back to us!”

Kim looks at Bob and blinks her eyes. She doesn’t make any other movements but right now, the Calimo’s don’t care. They just care that she’s awake and seemingly on the mend.

“It’s a miracle,” Natasha smiles as she looks at Kim. “A Christmas miracle.”
