Scene One - St. Joseph’s Church

Veronica looks into the mirror that is in the bridal dressing home at the church and she smile as she looks at herself. She is wearing a simple long white gown and has her hair pulled back into a small bun. She can’t believe that it’s her wedding day. It is days that little girls always dream of; the day her prince comes and makes her apart of him and his life. She feels her heart warm at the thought of getting to spend the rest of her life with Jeff as he is a good man; a man that she clearly loves. If she has one regret in with the wedding day, it’s that she doesn’t have more of her family and friends there to celebrate with her. Her and Jeff agreed that it would be just the two of them and Father Murphy for the day. After the fiasco at Robin and Cory’s wedding, they didn’t want to have something similar to happen. Plus, everything happened so quickly, everyone in Boston didn’t have the chance to make it to the wedding.

She picks up her bouquet and turns around preparing to go and marry Jeff. She opens the door and spots Jeff waiting for her outside of her room. She immediately notices how handsome he looks in his suit and tie.

“You look absolutely beautiful,” he says to her, unable to take his eyes off her in her wedding dress.

She blushes a little, “Thank you. You look very handsome yourself.”

“Are you ready to do this?” he asks her as he grabs her hand. “Father Murphy is waiting at the alter for us. It’s your last chance to back out.”

She smiles back to him, “I won’t do that to you. I can’t wait to be your wife.”

Jeff smiles back to her, “Good answer,” he replies to her. “Come on, let’s go get married.”

They walk together into the sanctuary and see Father Murphy standing at the alter. He looks up and sees the couple walk down the aisle together and smiles at the sight of them. He has always loved wedding. Seeing two people vow to love each other makes him very happy.

Back in the foyer of the church, the front door opens and Leah walks into the church. She looks around and doesn’t see anyone or any sign of the wedding going on. She breathes a sigh of relief thinking that maybe Jeff and Veronica had a change of heart. She doesn’t exactly know why she showed up at the wedding but she knows that she doesn’t want Jeff to marry Veronica. She knows that Veronica’s the wrong woman for Jeff. She turns around and is about to leave when she hears voices from the sanctuary.

“You two make a lovely couple,” Father Murphy tells Jeff and Veronica as they reach the alter. “I’m so pleased that you are willing to take this step into marriage. It’s a real blessing and gift that not everyone has the honour of reaching in life and in a relationship. Are you both ready to continue?”

Veronica and Jeff look at each other and smile before looking back at Father Murphy, “We are ready,” she replies to him.

“Take each other’s hands,” Father Murphy tells them as the couple listen to their instructions. “And now look into each other’s eyes. The eyes are the windows to our souls,” the Father continues. “Each time you look deep into each other’s eyes you will be able to see what the other is thinking and feeling. It’s one of the gifts of true love.”

“Jeff, when you look into Veronica’s eyes,” Father Murphy says. “What do you see?”

Jeff looks deep into his fiancé’s eyes and pauses for a moment, “I see a strong, caring, beautiful woman who would never hurt a soul in her life. I see a giving, passionate woman whom loves me very much.”

“And Veronica, when you look into Jeff’s eyes what do you see?”

Veronica smiles and looks into Jeff’s eyes, “I see the strongest, bravest man I’ve ever met. I see a man that wants me to have success and wants to love me for who I am and nothing more. I see love and respect in his eyes.”

Jeff smiles back at Veronica as Father Murphy looks around the empty church, “This next part will be easy,” he winks at them. “Is there anyone here that opposes the marriage between this man and this woman? If so, speak now or forever hold your peace.”

Jeff and Veronica laugh a little knowing that no one is at the church with them. They look at up Father Murphy, almost wanting him to speed up the ceremony.

“I have something to say. I have a reason why this wedding shouldn’t take place,” Leah announces at the back of the church as she enters and starts to walk down the aisle, leaving Veronica horrified. “Jeff, you can’t marry her. You have to hear me out.”

Scene Two - The Pampa Grill

“What is all of this?” Eva asks Will as she sits down at a large table, clearly more than just for two. “I thought when you asked me here it was going to be just the two of us.”

Will looks over at Eva and nods his head, “It will be just the two of us at first, but I invited some other people to join us in a few minutes. I wanted some alone time with you first.”

Eva arches her eyebrow wondering what he is up too. “What’s going on? You seem to be in a funny mood.”

Will looks at her and tries to hold it together. “I can’t tell you how much you mean to me,” he begins to tell her. “When I found you on the pier unconscious…”

“Don’t do this Will,” she cuts him off, not wanting to rehash her attack. “I’m fine. Nothing bad happened, okay?”

Will shakes his head, “It’s not okay Eva. I was so scared. I was so worried that I had lost you. I don’t want to feel that way anymore.”

“What are you saying?” she asks him, not understanding where he’s going with his heartfelt speech.

“I’m sorry that I’ve been so distant from you since your past came to light. I want us to get back on track, I want us to be okay again,” he smiles over to as he can see her getting water in her eyes.

“You mean it?” she gasps as she has waited to hear those words from him for so long.

“Of course I mean it,” he replies to her. “And to prove it to you, I have something for you.”

She watches as he gets out of his seat and moves over next to her. He gets down on one knee and pulls out a black box from his pocket, “Marry me Eva. Be my wife. Let’s be together forever.”

“Oh Will,” she says looking at the large diamond ring in the box. “Of course I’ll marry you!”

Donovan looks at his phone as he walks into the restaurant to double check the time that Will asked him to meet him and Eva there. He realizes that he’s running a little bit early, which is fine for him. He’d rather be early for the mysterious gathering than be late. He is assuming that Will is gathering everyone together so they can discuss how to handle Ernesto, since they all believe that he is the one behind Victoria and Eva’s recent attacks.

He turns the corner in the restaurant and sees Ernesto walking towards him. Donovan feels his heart skip a beat as he doesn’t know how to talk to his father. He hoped for so long that when Ernesto claimed that he was a changed man, his father was being honest with him. The attacks on his mother and sister prove that his father has not changed one bit. That truth makes Donovan upset.

“Donovan,” Ernesto says as he approaches his son. “This is a surprise to see you here.”

“I can’t talk Ernesto,” Donovan coldly replies to him. “I’m meeting some people here and I’m running late.” Donovan lies to his father. He hates lying, but he couldn’t think of anything else to say.

“You don’t even have a moment for your father?” Ernesto asks him. “That seems a bit cold, doesn’t it?”

Donovan arches his eye brow, “You know what’s cold Dad?” Donovan replies to him. “You stalking Victoria and Eva. You have no idea what family is and you have no idea what love is. You make me sick to my stomach.”

“Those are interesting choices of words,” Ernesto says back to him as he crosses his arms. “Because I know your secret and frankly it makes me sick to my stomach.”

“My secret?” Donovan asks, not sure what Ernesto is talking about. “I have no secrets.”

Ernesto laughs a little, “So I heard wrong? Your not a faggot?”

Donovan freezes and feels his heart move into his throat. “What did you just say?”

“You heard me. I know that you’re a faggot. You have no room to talk about making people sick,” Ernesto taunts his son as he moves closer to him. “And if I were you, I’d watch your next step. First Marbella, then Eva … maybe you’re the next member of your family to be … attacked,” Ernesto whispers to his son.

“Get the fuck away from me,” Donovan replies to his father as he walks away from him quickly. He feels water swell in his eyes as he can’t believe what his father just told him. He feels his entire body start to shake.

“Donovan, what’s wrong?” Eva asks as Donovan reaches the table where she and Will are.

He doesn’t say anything as he falls into his mother’s arms and she holds him.

Scene Three - The Tower’s, Floor Eight; Victoria’s Condo

“Will has invited me to the Pampa Grill,” Victoria tells Robbie as they lay next to each other in her large bed, fresh from another, intense, love making session. Victoria, now that she and Robbie have taken the next step with their relationship, can’t get enough of him. She does have some fears in the back of her mind that Robbie is rushing into another romance with her so soon after his marriage has ended to Leah.

“Oh yea,” he replies to her. “I’m thinking he wants to come up with a plan to uncover that Ernesto was the one behind the attacks.”

“How did your meeting go with Ernesto?” she asks him back, knowing that Robbie and Ernesto had a meeting at the police station recently.

Robbie sighs and looks at her, “I’ll say this about your father, he knows how to play it cool. He didn’t give anything away. With his alibi’s at the hotel panning out, we don’t have any proof that he is behind the attacks.”

“What do you think we should do?” Victoria asks him, knowing that they can’t let Ernesto get away with what he did. “He has to pay for what he has done to me and Eva.”

“He will,” Robbie reassures her as he caresses her face with his hand. “We have to be patient and he will slip up. In the meantime, you and Eva need to be extra careful never to be alone. We can’t give him another chance to hurt you. I won’t let him do that to you.”

She smiles at him and leans in and gives him a kiss, “Thank you.”

They part from their kiss, “What’s wrong?” he asks her, noticing that she looks upset about something. “Was it something I said?”

She shakes her head, “I’m scared.”

“Don’t be,” he replies to her. “I’ll protect you from Ernesto.”

“I know, that’s not what I’m scared of,” she admits to him as she closes her eyes for a moment.

“What are you scared of Victoria?”

“This,” she replies looking at him. “You and me together like this.”

Robbie arches his eye brow, “I could have swore you liked it,” he winks at her. “Seriously, what makes you scared of us being together?”

Victoria sighs, “You just left your wife Robbie,” she confides to him. “Your divorce isn’t even finalized yet. I just … I don’t want to get in over my head with you. I don’t want to be a rebound for you. I’ve been hurt too many times in the past with men, I don’t want that again.”

Robbie moves closer to and grabs her face with his hands, “I don’t want to hurt you either and that’s not my intent,” he tells her. “I can’t tell you what will happen in the future, but I can tell you that you’re not a rebound. I had been thinking about you for months before my marriage ended.”

“Really?” she asks him looking into his eyes.

“Really,” he replies. “I wanted you. I wanted to be with you. I am turned on by you,” he reveals to her, recalling the months of sexual tension the two felt.

“I guess I can kinda tell,” she winks back over to him.

He kisses her passionately, “I can show you again if you want me too.”

She feels his hand move down to her breast and he squeezes it, “We should hurry so we can go to the Pampa Grill.”

He looks up to her, “They can wait,” he says as his mouth starts to explore her body again.

Scene Four - The Black House; Adam, Helen & Dawn’s Home

“How did you sleep?” Helen asks Natasha as she dries her hair, fresh from a shower that is in the far back corner of the cage.

Natasha looks up from her small cot and rolls over to face Helen. “I didn’t really sleep,” she admits to Helen. “I can’t tell if it’s morning, noon, or night down here. The lack of sun light is really starting to get to me. I feel like I’m going crazy or something.”

Helen sighs, not even remembering what sun light is. It’s been about a full year since she was kidnapped and placed in the cage. “I think I was going crazy before you came here,” she admits to Natasha. “Being locked by yourself for almost a year with no one to talk too … that’s when you really go crazy.”

“I’m sorry,” Natasha says as she leans up on the cot. “I forgot that you have been here for so much longer than I have been here. I can be so insensitive.”

Helen shakes her head, “Don’t worry about it. This is going to sound awful, but I’m glad that I’m not alone anymore. It’s nice having someone to talk too.”

Natasha laughs together, “I suppose if you’re going to be kidnapped and held hostage, it’s better to have a friend with you.”

Both women look at each other for a moment before they burst out laughing realizing that they have to find humour in this disastrous situation that they are in.

“In my lack of sleep,” Natasha starts to say as her laughter starts to calm down. “I think I’ve come up with a plan to get Casey to help us. It’s going to take both of us, but I think we can do this.”

Helen nods her head, “Really? Okay, I’m listening. Anything for us to get the hell out of here.”

***

Upstairs, Cassie opens the door to the house and sees Shane standing on the other side, “Shane!” she smiles, always thrilled when he is around her. To make things better for her, she didn’t even invite him over today, he has just showed up. She tries to remember that she has to play the role of Helen. She can’t afford any slip ups now, not after everything she has worked on to get to this point.

“What brings you by?” she asks as he enters the house and moves into the living room.

Shane looks at her and shrugs, “I guess I needed to see a friendly face. Eva and I spoke yesterday. Her ex-husband may have had something do with Natasha’s disappearance.”

Cassie arches her eyebrow, knowing that the woman Shane is looking for is right below them. “You do you say that?”

Shane nods, “Something isn’t sitting right with me about this letter that she wrote Helen. I still think that if Natasha needed time away to get her head around Bob’s marriage, she would have called me. It’s not like her to just disappear. Eva’s ex is a dangerous man. She thinks he may have gone after Natasha as some kind of sick revenge.”

Cassie nods her head, already thinking of something else that she can do to make sure Shane doesn’t continue to dig for Natasha. “Like I told you before Shane, I don’t think Natasha was in the right frame of mind. You know, she was acting odd for awhile before that.”

Shane arches his eyebrow, “How so?”

“She was worried about the wedding plans, and she just seemed unsettled,” Cassie lies to him, hoping that she was upset. “And there’s something else that I haven’t told you.”

Shane looks at her, “What haven’t you told me?”

“Natasha,” Cassie begins to say as she tries to force herself to cry. “She confronted me about kissing you the first time we kissed.”

Shane nods, “Yea, one of the last conversations we had, I told her what happened. I didn’t want to keep that from her.”

Cassie looks at him, “That’s fair,” she begins to say. “She was just so cruel to me about it. The things she said to me.”

“What did she say?” Shane asks, moving closer to her. “The last thing I wanted to do was create friction between the two of you.”

“It’s not your fault,” she quickly replies to him. “The kiss wasn’t anyone’s fault either, it just happened. But Natasha … she just went off. I’ve never seen her like that before.”

Shane comes up and hugs her, wondering if Natasha really did go off the deep end and went away on her own. “I’m so sorry that you had to endure that.”

Cassie pretends to start to cry as he holds her. “She was so mean. I really think that everything that happened made her lose it Shane. I know it’s not want you want to hear, but I think Natasha left on her own free will.”

“Now that you’ve said this,” Shane says back to her. “It would make sense.”

Cassie slowly walks around him and moves to the sofa and sits down. She continues to cry a little.

“What’s wrong?” he asks her as he moves and sits next to her. “If Natasha was upset, you know she didn’t mean anything she said.”

“It’s not about Natasha,” Cassie replies to him, putting her hand on his leg. “I filed for divorce from Adam.”

“You did?” Shane asks surprised. “How are you feeling?”

Cassie shrugs, “Mixed emotions. Happy that I can finally move on, but sad that my marriage is ending.”

“That’s understandable,” he replies to her as he puts his hand to her face and wipes her eyes. She moves her hand up to his and holds it for a moment. “Don’t cry,” he says to her.

“I just feel so alone,” she replies to him looking into his eyes.

“You’re not alone Helen,” he says, not realizing that he’s moving into towards her. Before he knows what’s doing, his lips are on hers. She pulls him in for a more passionate kiss before he pulls back. “Sorry,” he quickly says, moving his hands off her face. “I shouldn’t have done that.”

Cassie smiles back over to him, “It’s fine Shane. What happens between us will always just stay between us,” she says to him, knowing that she’s making good progress with him.

Scene Five - Twin Peaks Rehabilitation Center; Adam’s Room

Adam looks out the window standing on his own two feet for the first time in a long time. He smiles as he is able to finally walk on his own. It’s been a long, hard year on him as he has struggled to regain his leg strength. Even now, he still has to use a cane to help him walk, but the fact that he is up and out of the hospital bed is that he needs to make himself feel happy and alive again. He can’t wait to get out of the hospital and head home to see his daughter.

He sighs when he realizes that he’ll have to find a place to live since Helen has indicated that she wants a separation and possibly a divorce. He knows that he won’t ask for the house because he doesn’t want to up root Dawn from her home. He could move back into the condo at the Tower’s, but considering he is still using a cane, he doesn’t know that it will be the best place for him.

He turns around when he hears the door open and two people come into his room. He recognizes one as a nurse from the facility, but the other individual, he isn’t so sure who it is.

“Hi,” he says to them both.

“Hi Mr. Black,” the nurse smiles to him. “This fellow was looking for you. I thought I’d come and bring you your discharge papers.”

Adam looks up with a grin on his face, “You mean today is the day I get to go home? I knew it was soon, but I didn’t expect it to be today. This is great news.”

“We are all happy for you, but we will miss you,” she smiles back to him. “When you’ve signed everything, bring them up front. Our shuttle van will take you home if you’d like.”

“That’s great, thanks,” he says as he watches the nurse leave the room. He looks to the other delivery man and nods, “How can I help you?”

“I have these papers for you,” he tells Adam as he passes them over to him. “Looks like it’s your day for paper work.”

“What are these?” Adam asks him as he takes the paper from his hand.

The delivery man shrugs, “I don’t know what they are, I just deliver them. Have a good day.”

Adam waits until he’s alone before he slowly walks over to a chair in his room and sits down. He opens the parcel and sighs when he reads the papers, “Divorce papers,” he says to himself as he feels his heart sink. “I knew that you were thinking of a divorce but this seems so … real,” he says to himself, suddenly realizing that his life has changed drastically in the few short months that he was in the hospital.

Scene Six - The Pampa Grill

“Are you sure you’re alright?” Eva asks Donovan as he sits next to her, still feeling shaken by his conversation with Ernesto earlier at the restaurant.

“I’m fine,” Donovan replies to him, feeling a little bit calmer now that is around family and friends. He knows that Ernesto was trying to get to him and h doesn’t want to let his father win. “I know Victoria isn’t here yet, but why did you guys call us over today? Do you have a plan to get Ernesto to admit that he was behind the attacks?”

“That’s not why we called you here,” Will replies, unable to hide the large smile from his face.

“Then what’s going on?” Donovan asks him, curious as to what’s happening.

As Will is about to speak, Ernesto approaches their table. “Your mother and I, we got engaged this morning. We are going to be married!” Will reveals as a smile comes across Eva’s face, thrilled with the news.

“Really?” Donovan asks, happy that they have put everything back together. “That’s great news. I’m happy that you guys have found each other again.”

“Are you really okay with this?” Eva asks her son.

“Of course I am Mom. I just want us to be happy,” Donovan replies to her.

Ernesto starts to laugh behind them, causing Donovan and Eva to turn and see him standing there, causing their smiles to quickly fade.

“What the hell do you want?” Will quickly asks him as he stands up, not wanting him there to ruin his moment. “You’re not welcome here.”

“This is priceless,” Ernesto replies to Will, his eyes on Eva. “You engaged Eva? Really?”

Eva looks at Ernesto and points her finger at him, “Don’t do this Ernesto. This is not the time,” she warns him.

Ernesto arches his eyebrow, “You just revealed that you’re engaged Eva, when is a better time? Everyone should know the truth about what’s going on here.”

“What the hell are you talking about?” Will asks him, grinding his teeth at the man.

“Eva can’t marry you,” Ernesto informs Will. “Because she’s still married to me. We never got divorced.”

Will’s mouth falls open as he looks at Ernesto then back at Eva, who covers her mouth in shock, horrified by Ernesto’s revelation.

Scene Seven - St. Joseph’s Church

“Leah, this really isn’t a good time,” Jeff says to his ex-wife as he leaves his spot at the alter and moves towards her. “I’m about to marry Veronica. Anything you have to say to me can wait until after the ceremony.”

Leah shakes her head and looks at him, “Jeff you can’t marry Veronica. You just can’t.”

“And why the hell not?” Veronica asks her, fed up with Leah’s on going drama. “I think you’ve created enough chaos, don’t you? I want you to leave the church and let me marry Jeff!”

“Jeff, please,” Leah ignores Veronica and keeps her focus on Jeff. “You have to hear me out. I’ve had a lot of time to think and I think that everything has happened for a reason.”

Jeff arches his eyebrow and looks at Leah, “What are you talking about?”

“Everything,” Leah continues as a tear falls out of her eye. “The truth about Paige coming out. You and me … we keep being pulled together,” she tells him as Veronica folds her arms. “We kissed at Noah’s grave … so much has happened.”

Jeff shakes his head at her, “I don’t know what you’re trying to say.”

“I’m saying,” she says as she grabs his hand. “Maybe this is our time to finally put a family together. A real family Jeff.”

“Oh God,” Veronica yells at the two of them. “I can’t take this anymore. I’m done!”

Jeff watches as she throws her flowers on the ground and rushes out of the church. “Veronica!” Jeff calls, pushing past Leah as he begins to run after her.

“Jeff, let just let her go,” Leah calls after Jeff, who rushes after Veronica out of the church.

Jeff gets to the open door of the church and sees Veronica’s car speeds off from the parking lot. He looks back and sees Leah, who is slowly approaching him and he sighs, wondering what he is going to do now.
