Scene One - The Calimo Mansion

Bob walks into the living room of the mansion and immediately spots Kim looking out the French doors that over look part of the garden. She’s holding a glass of white wine in one hand as she seems lost in whatever her eyes are fixed on outside. He gives himself a quick smirk thinking that it may very well be early for a glass of wine, but he’s happy she’s growing into the role of his wife. At first, he thought maybe it would be a bit overwhelming since there are a lot of expectations on his wife within the community. The woman in front of him certainly looks the part of his wife now.

“White wine?” he finally breaks the silence between them, causing her to lose focus on the outdoors. “A bit early to be drinking isn’t it Kimberly?”

Kim turns around and smiles at her husband. She has been looking forward to seeing him again to tell him that she’s finally on board with helping locate Natasha. At first, she told Bob that she thought Natasha was purposely trying to create tension in their marriage because Natasha has never approved of their relationship, yet alone marriage.

“I was celebrating,” she replies as she purses her lips together.

Bob arches his eyebrow and looks at her, “Celebrating what exactly?”

“I’ve realized that we have to find Natasha,” she tells him, knowing that she’s about to tell him a small white lie. “I don’t think Natasha purposely ran away anymore. I’ve actually called a highly recommended PI out of New Jersey to help us locate her.”

Bob gets a smile on his face, “You did?” he asks thrilled that she is finally coming around and helping his family. He knows that this is the last step for her to officially be the perfect wife; making family a top priority.

“I know how much your family means to you Bob. I want us all to be together,” Kim tells him as she sets her wine glass down and walks over to him to give him a hug. “I want us to all be happy again. Finding Natasha will be the first step in healing us together again.”

“I couldn’t agree more,” Bob replies to her as he leans in and give her a quick kiss on the lips. They exit their embrace and as Kim goes over to collect her wine glass, he can’t help but notice some of the jewellery on her hands. “Where did you get that ring?”

“Excuse me?” Kim asks taken a back by his question as she takes another sip of wine.

“The ring on your right hand,” Bob repeats himself. “Where did you get it?”

Kim gulps and looks at her husband before looking at her right hand, “Oh, I found it upstairs in the guest room. It was a jewellery box and I thought it was pretty, so I put it on. Why do you ask?”

Bob looks over at her, “It was Sofia’s,” he reveals to her.

“I see,” she quickly replies. “I can take it off it you’d like. I just think it’s waste to have such a beautiful ring collecting dust in the guest room upstairs.”

Bob sighs and smiles over at her, “You’re right Kimberly. If you like, you should wear it.”

Kim smiles and walks over to her husband, “Thank you baby,” she says as she gives him a quick kiss. “I’m doing you a favour your know.”

“You are now?” he asks her, smiling as she’s still close to him.

“Mmhmm,” she replies to him. “Had you said take it off, I would have had to go shopping and find something just as pretty.”

Bob starts to laugh, “You’re something else, you know that?”

“I just love being your wife,” she tells him back.

Scene Two - Twin Peaks Police Department; Robbie’s Office

Robbie sits at his desk looking over a new file that is creating on Ernesto. He can’t shake the feeling that Ernesto is the one behind the recent attacks on Victoria and Eva. Both attacks were almost identical in the way they were carried out and the fact that the attacker left a small cut on their necks, almost like marking their victim, sends a sign that the attacks were completed by the same person. He just has to find the evidence so he can lock up Ernesto and remove him from everyone’s lives.

He looks up on his desk and notices a picture of him, Leah and Paige. He sighs and he grabs the framed picture and places it in one of his desk drawers. He doesn’t want to have a picture of his wife on his desk anymore, not after everything she has done to him. All the lies she has told him over the years, especially making him believe he was Paige’s father. He still has a hard time wrapping his head around it. He will still have a relationship with Paige, however. He refuses to allow her to suffer because of Leah’s lies.

“Can we talk for a moment?” a voice says at his door way.

Robbie looks up and sees Leah standing there, “As long as it’s quick. I have a lot of work to do,” he says coldly to her, not sure why she has arrived. He thought he made is clear that they were over.

Leah enters his office and closes the door behind him, “I don’t want to fight with you Robbie,” she starts to tell him. She really wants to try to make him understand why did the things she has done.

“Well that’s good. You probably should have thought of that before you went behind my back and screwed your ex-husband. But that’s irrelevant now. What do you want?”

“I know you said you wanted a divorce,” she begins to tell him again.

“I do,” he cuts her off. “You won’t change my mind on that.”

“I realize that,” she says softly, biting her lower lip. “I just want to make sure that you won’t try to take Paige away from me.”

Robbie looks up at her with disgust on his face. “That’s why you’re here? To try to protect yourself from Paige?”

She shakes her head no, “I don’t want to lose her too.”

Robbie stands up and glares at her, “You won’t keep me from Paige Leah. I refuse to allow that to happen. I’m the only father she’s ever know. If I disappear, she won’t understand what’s happening.”

“I know,” Leah replies as a tear falls out of her eye. “I’m asking you not to go after full custody. I promise you can have full access to her.”

Robbie sits back down, “Fine. But the first time you try anything, so help me…”

“I won’t,” she promises him. “I don’t want this to be ugly Robbie. I don’t want us to hate each other.”

He is about to say something but he stops himself. He looks up and sees the woman he has called his wife for so long and tries to see her once more. He nods his head back to her.

“I’ll let you get back to work,” she replies to him as she walks to the door way. “Robbie,” she calls to him as he looks up at her. “Thank you.”

Scene Three - The Pampa Grill

Jeff sits at a table and quickly glances at a menu, even though he’s not really interested in having a meal. He’s meeting Veronica to discuss the final preparations for their upcoming wedding, which they have moved up because they don’t want to wait anymore. After everything that has happened, they want to be together and create a stable environment for Paige when Jeff is finally able to see and spend time with his daughter.

He sighs as he wonders how he should approach Leah about seeing Paige. He can’t imagine that it will be easy for her, or Robbie, to let him into Paige’s life but he refuses to sit back and let his daughter’s life pass him any further. He’s already missed too much of her life.

He thinks back to the night the truth came out when he confronted Leah at the Calimo house.

[FLASH]

Leah feels her eyes swell with water again, “Don’t do that! Don’t bring Noah into this Jeff!”

“Why not?” he spits back at her. “You thought, ‘Hey, we lost one child together, why not another?’ This is disgusting Leah!” he yells at her as he sees that she is crying now and he starts to get water in his eyes too. “I hate that we are fighting about something like this! Why would you do this to me?”

Leah puts her hand over her mouth and slowly falls to the ground, “I’m sorry. I never meant for it to go this far. I just wanted … I just wanted my family to stay together.”

Jeff kneels down and grabs her hands from the floor and looks into her eyes, “We can fix this Leah, but we have to start by you letting me see Paige. I want her to know that I am her father. I want to be her father.”

Leah nods through her tears, hoping that she’s doing the right thing by allowing Jeff to see Paige.

[FLASH]

He opens his eyes and knows that she agreed to let him see Paige already.

“I just have to find a way to bring it up to her,” he whispers to himself. “The longer we put this off the harder it will become for everyone.”

At another table near the back corner of the restaurant, Cory sits down across from Madeline. She smiles at the sight of him, as they haven’t seen each other for a few weeks. Not since his wedding to Robin, at the very least, and she knows everything that happened there. She quickly touches her cheek, still feeling the slap that Robin gave her for trying to ruin her wedding. She is still grateful that she has a friendship with Cory. While she may have lost Cory on a romantic level, she still wants him in her life.

“Thanks for the invite today,” Madeline tells him as she takes a drink of her water.

Cory looks at her for a moment and still can’t believe the kind of person that is sitting in front of him. For so long he really believed that she was a good hearted person to the extent that he welcomed her into his house and his bed. He is stunned that she was actually blackmailing Robin with the fact that Jeff is really Paige’s father and that she, mostly likely, had something to do with the truth coming out at the wedding. The fact that she would hurt Robin, and him, is disgusting to him.

“I had to see you,” he replies to her, causing her to feel a chill from his response. She can’t place it, but she can tell something is up with him. “It really couldn’t have waited any longer.”

She arches her eyebrow, “Okay,” she replies slowly, still wondering what’s going on. “What’s up?”

“I think you have some explaining to do,” he says to her as he looks her straight in the eye. “Robin told me everything about what went down in the last year.”

Madeline sighs and looks down ashamed that he knows what she was up too. She knows that there’s no explaining it to him because Robin has already tainted him with her version of the story.

“Don’t you have anything to say for yourself?” he asks her, waiting for some kind of response from her.

“What do you want me to say?” she finally asks him as she looks back up at him. “I’m not proud of my actions but at the time I thought what I was doing was right. I loved you and won’t apologize for that.”

“Love isn’t blackmail Madeline!” Cory spits back at her. “Love isn’t keeping two people apart that love each other.”

“That’s not exactly what happened…”

“Yes it is,” he continues to rail into her. “You … I don’t even know who you are!”

Madeline looks at him and pauses, “Yes, you do Cory. I know it sounds bad, but I really did love you. I just thought that …”

“You know what Madeline?” he cuts her off. “Save your excuses. I am not interested in hearing them. In fact, I can’t even look at you right now.”

She watches as he stands up, “I thought we were friends?”

“Friends?” he asks, shocked that she mentioned that word to him. “Friends would never do this to one another. We aren’t friends Madeline. We aren’t anything anymore. You did this, not me.”

She watches as he walks away from the table, leaving her wondering why she even bothered to show up at the restaurant today. She should have known that Robin would try to ruin her life even more than she already has.

“I have to move on from this fiasco” she tells herself, not wanting to waste anymore energy on it. She wants to forget ever getting involved with a married man.

Bob enters the restaurant and quickly checks his watch hoping that he’s not running too late for his meeting. He sighs when he realizes that he’s early as he’s meeting some executives from Roboto to go over the new line that they released this year. He would like to have a follow up to the line sooner rather than later to keep the momentum going with his company. He knows that the main reason he is pushing this forward is to settle the score he feels like he has going with Dominick. While Bob is happy with Kim in his new marriage, he knows that deep down his rivalry with Dominick goes back to Sofia and he refuses to let Dominick win that battle. He won’t let anyone believe that Sofia loved Dominick because he knows nothing could be further from the truth.

He turns the corner and almost runs into Dominick, who is leaving the restaurant. “I would say watch where you’re going, but that would take common sense,” Dominick says to his rival as he dodges out of Bob’s way.

Bob looks up and glares are him, “What are you doing here? Damage control, I am assuming.”

“Damage control?” Dominick asks him.

“Your whore of a daughter, who is she sleeping with behind my son’s back this time?” Bob grills him, thinking of Leah’s affair with Jeff while she was married to Robbie.

“How dare you,” Dominick grits his teeth at Bob. “You can say whatever the hell you want about me, but you leave my children out this Bob.”

Bob laughs at him, “Maybe you and Leah should have thought about that before conducting some huge plan to keep her hooks in Robbie. The good news is that he wants to leave her sorry ass, not that I blame him. After all the lies she told, I’d leave her too.”

“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Dominick replies to him, growing fed up with the conversation.

“Don’t I?” Bob smiles. “Obviously you haven’t spoken to Leah lately. Oh, and tell her that Paige will always be welcome in my home. She’ll always be a Calimo at heart,” he says back to Dominick, who grinds his teeth even more. “If you’ll excuse me, I have to meet with some executives so we can plan to ruin your company even more than we already have.”

Dominick watches as Bob scurries away and sighs heavily. He was hoping that Robbie and Leah’s problems wouldn’t impact him, but it’s clear that Bob will throw any punch that he can to try to get even with him. He pulls out his black berry and opens an email. He can see that Roboto is doing better than Robertson Enterprises right now in sales and revenue.

“That’s it,” he whispers to himself. “I have to start to focus on Robertson again. I have to make sure I beat that scum,” he thinks to him as he gets an idea. “I need a new model. Someone beautiful that will draw people into the ads for the new line,” he realizes to himself as he puts his phone away and prepares to head to the office. If he’s going to start focusing back on work, there’s no time like the present to do just that.

***

Leah walks out of the washroom and heads back towards the bar where she is waiting for her take out order. She normally would sit and dine in the restaurant, but with everyone basically knowing what has happened with her life lately, the last thing she wants to do is make a public spectacle of herself. She would rather get some food and go back home where she can hide out like she wants to. And there’s nothing more she’d rather do than just that. Especially after her emotional visit with Robbie earlier in the day. She knows that he is devastated by the truth coming out, she just wishes he could at least listen to what she has to say. It’s a hard pill to swallow knowing that her marriage is over.

She turns around as she sits on the bar stool and sees Veronica walking towards a table. She quickly turns around, not wanting Veronica to see her. Veronica happens to feel her cell phone vibrate in her purse and she stops close to Leah. She pulls out her phone, “Hello,” Veronica says into her phone. “Yes, this is Veronica Lane … Yes, the wedding is scheduled for next week … That’s right, yes myself and Jeff Claus … No, it’ll be very small, we don’t want many people in attendance … Perfect, thank you,” she says into her phone as she hangs it up and puts her phone back into her purse.

Leah can’t believe what she just heard; Jeff and Veronica have moved up their wedding to be sooner rather than later. She shakes her head and feels her heart sink into her stomach.

“What’s wrong with me?” she asks herself. “I’m fighting to save my marriage, and I’m letting Jeff’s wedding plans bug me? Pull yourself together Leah.”

She smiles as the waitress brings her the order. As she walks out of the restaurant, she turns around and spots Veronica and Jeff smiling at each other at their table. She shakes her head wondering what she should do with the information she just learned, if anything.

Scene Four - Twin Peaks Police Department; Robbie’s Office

“I heard you wanted to see me,” Ernesto announces as he opens the door to Robbie’s office.

Robbie looks up from his paper work on his desk and smiles at the man that he suspects is behind the recent attacks to Eva and Victoria. “You heard correctly,” Robbie replies to him.

“It should be noted that I came on my own free will,” Ernesto informs to him as he shuts the door and walks towards the chair that is front of Robbie’s desk. “I didn’t want you to have to send an officer to get me. I know they have more important things to do.”

Robbie arches his eyebrow, “That’s generous of you Ernesto. That doesn’t mean that you’ll get a get out of jail free card.”

Ernesto laughs, “I would hope not, only I haven’t done anything wrong to put me in jail.”

“I’d like to ask you a couple of questions that I’d like to ask you, if you’re okay with that,” Robbie tells him back. “Of course, if you’d rather have a lawyer present, that’s understandable.”

“I have nothing to hide, ask away,” Ernesto quickly says back, not intimidated by the officer in front of him.

“Did you know that Eva McCloud was attacked?” Robbie asks him as Ernesto’s eyes open wider.

“My goodness, is she alright?” he asks quickly.

“She’ll be fine. You know what’s odd?” he asks as Ernesto arches his eye brow. “The attack was almost identical to the one Victoria suffered the day of Cory and Robin’s wedding.”

“Is that so?” Ernesto replies to him.

“I’d like to know where you were yesterday morning around 9:30 am,” Robbie continues to probe him, but can quickly see that Ernesto is a pro at deflecting anything that comes his way.

“Yesterday morning at 9:30?” Ernesto replays Robbie’s question. “I believe I was at the Twin Peaks Executive Hotel’s main dining room having breakfast. Why do you ask? You don’t really suspect that I attacked my wife do you?”

“Ex-wife,” Robbie corrects him. “And yes, we have reason to believe that you are the one behind the attacks.”

Ernesto gets a devilish grin on his face, “I see. Well, like I just told you detective, I have an alibi. I had absolutely nothing to do with the attacks on Eva or Marbella. I will offer my assistance to you and the entire police department, however, in trying to find the person responsible. I want no harm to come to my family. In fact, I want just the opposite.”

With that, Ernesto stands up and prepares to walk out of the office. “We’ll be in touch Mr. Moretti,” Robbie says from his desk, knowing that he still has to find a way to uncover the truth proving Ernesto’s guilt.

“I am sure we will detective,” Ernesto grins before he leaves out the office. He closes the door behind him and smiles in the hallway, thinking that he just put on an award winning performance. He refuses to let some small town cop ruffle his feathers. Not now, not ever.
