Scene One - Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Room 412; Los Angeles, California

“You’ve been so quiet on the way back to the hotel,” Dean observes to his boyfriend as they walk from the elevator to their hotel room. They just got back from Rosco Modelling where Dean introduced Reese to some of his modelling contacts. They, naturally, were very interested in Reese as a potential model for them. Dean hasn’t been able to place his finger on it yet, however, but he can sense that something is up with Reese. He has been far to silent and that excitement he had before the meeting is gone. “Are you tired? It’s been one heck of a day.”

“It sure has,” Reese replies to him giving him somewhat of a cold shoulder. He can’t believe that when Dean was telling him that he could branch out into other modelling that he meant nude modelling. When they arrived at Rosco and entered the photo shoot, it was a male model who was completely naked. What would make Dean think that he would be okay with nude modelling? Naturally, once he realized that kind of modelling that was occurring, Reese withdrew and become more reserved. The last thing he wants to do is model naked, it’s not where he thought his modelling career was going to go.

“Do you want anything? I could order room service,” Dean asks him as he puts the hotel room key on the small desk in the corner of the room, desperately trying to break the tension between him and Reese.

“Nah, I think I’m going to take a shower,” Reese replies to him. “I had forgotten how hot it can get here. I feel sweaty.”

“Do you want to talk about the modelling contacts? Britt and Sebastian really seemed to like you. I think you’d fit in nicely at Rosco,” Dean says turning to look at his boyfriend to try to get his thoughts on the situation.

“Do I want to talk about it Dean? I can’t believe you took me to Rosco in the first place!” Reese snaps back at him. “I won’t pose nude. I can’t believe you thought I’d be okay with that.”

Dean arches his eyebrow and looks at Reese, “I just assumed that we were on the same page Reese, I’m sorry that you feel this way. Many models start out with nude photography before they make their big break.”

“I won’t be some object that millions of people jerk off too Dean! I won’t do it,” Reese says folding his arms across his chest.

“Okay,” Dean replies trying to cool Reese off. “Like I said, I never meant to offend you.”

There’s a brief moment of silence before Dean looks over at Reese again. “I guess my other idea will be out of the question then.”

“What other idea?” Reese asks, holding out hope that Dean has a better suggestion in his mind about the next chapter of his career.

“I was thinking you could do an adult video of some kind,” Dean reveals as Reese’s mouth falls open.

Scene Two - The Twin Peaks Executive Hotel; Room 1409

“Are you sure you want to do this? You don’t have to you know,” Robbie tells Victoria as they step off the elevator of the high end hotel. He recalls being with Victoria when he got word that Ernesto had been released from jail and so he shared the news with Victoria and she immediately wanted to come see her father. They found out that he was staying at the hotel and raced right over to see Ernesto. Robbie still is unsure if the idea was a good one or not, however.

Victoria sighs and looks at Robbie. “I know I don’t have too Robbie, but I want him to know that he can’t push me around anymore. I want him to know that I won’t be his victim again.”

Robbie nods his head understanding where she is coming from. “Okay, let’s do this then. I won’t leave your side.”

“Thank you,” she replies with a slight smile on her face. They walk down to Ernesto’s suite and knock on the door. He soon emerges at the door and has a slightly confused look on his face when he sees Victoria, but then smiles at her.

“Marbella, what a surprise,” he replies as he lets her and Robbie into his suite. “I wasn’t expecting you to welcome me out of jail, but it is nice that you have.”

“I’m not here to welcome you out of jail,” she quickly replies to him. “I’m here to tell you to stay away from me. If you come near me again, I won’t be responsible for what happens.”

Ernesto laughs a little, “Are you threatening me?”

“No,” Victoria replies to him. “I’m telling you that we don’t have any kind of relationship. You may have fathered me, but that’s where it ends. I don’t want to see you, I don’t want to talk to you. I hate you for everything you’ve done to me. I will never forgot the horror that you put me through. Stay away from me Ernesto.”

“Marbella, you came to see me,” he reminds her. “I haven’t done anything wrong. The past is in the past. I am a changed man and I would never harm my family. If only we could all get together and be a family for once. Maybe,” he explains before pausing for a moment. “The healing could begin.”

“You don’t know the meaning of the word family,” she spits back at him, rolling her eyes in the process. “I’m done with you.”

“Marbella, wait,” he pleads with her. “Hear me out.”

Scene Three - River Side Delicatessen

“I think it’s pretty natural that the first time you hung out with your new found sister it would be a little weird,” Andy tells Donovan as they sit across from each other, each having a latte and a muffin. Donovan just finished filling Andy in on his lunch with Natasha the other day with Victoria where the new siblings tried to get to know each other but it ended with some tension. Andy looks over at his friend and tries to keep reminding himself that they are just friends and that he has a great boyfriend in Craig. Every time he looks at Donovan though, he can’t help but feel his attraction to him grow.

“Yea, I know,” Donovan replies, oblivious to Andy’s feelings towards him. He is just happy that he has a friend in Twin Peaks, the fact that Andy is also gay is a perk too. “I just felt bad for Victoria, you know? It couldn’t have been easy hearing Natasha go on and about how much Eva wanted to get to know her when Eva didn’t even try to look for Victoria once.”

“And we all know what happened to Victoria after your Mom left you guys,” Andy tells Donovan, recalling how he was the one that ended up discovering that Victoria was suffering from DID years ago as a result of Ernesto’s sexual abuse.

“Exactly,” Donovan says as he takes a bite of his muffin. “Anyways, enough of my drama Andy. What’s new with you? How’s your boyfriend?”

Andy grins a little, knowing that things with Craig are going pretty well. Everything except for Andy’s growing attraction to the man sitting across from him. “Things are good, which is a nice change of pace. In my past relationships, there’s always been drama.”

Donovan smiles over at him, “I think we’ve all been there. But I am happy to hear that things are going good. I’d love to meet this guy some day!”

Andy blushes a little, wondering how Craig would feel about him having such a hot, new friend. He has never thought of Craig as the jealous type, but he can’t be sure of how he would react. “Yea, that could be arranged.”

Donovan suddenly feels his telephone vibrate, “Oh excuse me for a second Andy,” he says as he grabs his phone and picks it up. “Hello … Yes, this is he … What? When did this happen? … Does my sister know? … Okay, thank you.”

“What was that all about it? It sounded serious,” Andy observes as he takes a drink of his latte.

“My father,” Donovan replies as he sets his phone down on the table. “He’s been released from jail.”

Andy immediately moves his hand over to Donovan’s, “Are you okay?”

As Donovan nods yes, the front door to the delicatessen opens and Craig walks in. He quickly spots Andy sitting in the corner with an attractive man sitting across from him. And he sees Andy’s hand firmly on top of the other man’s.

Scene Four - The Pampa Grill

Natasha enters the restaurant and walks up to the hostess as she had pre-ordered her take out lunch. The hostess informs her to go wait at the bar, so Natasha slowly walks over to the large bar and has a seat. While she waits, she sips on vodka martini. She looks around and sees the table where she sat the other day with Donovan and Victoria trying to get to know her new found siblings. She shakes her head knowing that she put her foot in her mouth telling Victoria about how much Eva wanted to get to know her; now she realizes how much that must have upset Victoria because Eva never tried to search her after she faked her death.

“It may take longer than I hoped to get to know my brother and sister,” she says to herself as she sips on her martini, hoping that she can form a relationship with them eventually.

Suddenly, Eva emerges at the bar and sits next to Natasha. “Looks like we had the same idea for lunch today,” Eva says to her daughter as she gets comfortable at the bar. Eva looks over at Natasha and hopes that Natasha won’t turn her back on her like she has the last few times that they’ve seen each other. Eva understands why people are so upset with her, but nothing will change the past. She has to keep pressing and hope that eventually they will come around.

“Yea, I guess we did,” Natasha replies to her taking another sip of her martini. “Bartender, I’m just going to run to the washroom, if my order comes up.” The last thing Natasha wants to do while waiting for her lunch is to sit and try to make nice to Eva. She’s not ready to go down that path, not yet. “Excuse me Eva.”

Eva feels her heart sink as Natasha gets up and walks away from her. Suddenly, she sees that Natasha dropped her lipstick on the ground. She picks it up and rushes towards Natasha, who is still walking towards the restrooms.

At another table in the restaurant, Bob and Kim sit together looking at the menu. He invited her to lunch today because despite being busy at the office, he wanted to get out and see his fiancé.

“See anything that interests you?” he smiles over at her as she looks at the menu.

Kim looks over and gazes at him. “Have I told you lately how happy you have made me?”

“Where is all of this coming from?” he asks her, knowing that she tells him all the time how much she enjoys their new found life together.

She shrugs a little, “I was looking at our wedding plans earlier and it just made me really happy Bob. I can’t remember a time in my life when I’ve been so content.”

“I’m happy Kimberly,” he replies to her. “I know that our relationship hasn’t always been easy for you. It has cost you a lot of things that were near and dear to you.”

“Those things aren’t nearly as important as you are to me,” she replies to him. “You know, I’ve been thinking.”

“Oh? About what?” he asks her.

“Roboto’s launch was a huge success, we should celebrate. I have this crazy idea, I hope you like it,” she says as she purses her lips together.

From behind some plants that are behind Kim, Natasha freezes when she hears her former best friend speaking to her father. She stops and listens as her eyes perk open as she hears Kim idea of eloping. She can’t believe that Kim would even suggest such a thing.

“Why don’t we go to Vegas Bob? We can celebrate Roboto and maybe even elope!” Kim says with a huge grin on her face, hoping he’s receptive of her idea.

“Elope? Kimberly, I thought you wanted a huge wedding.”

“Huge wedding’s are over rated,” she quickly replies. “And besides, it’s not like we have a ton of supporters that would come to the wedding anyways. The only thing that matters is you and I. What do you say, let’s elope?”

“I love the idea Kimberly! Let’s go to Vegas,” Bob winks over at her.

From behind the plants, Natasha shakes her head and feels her blood boil. “Over my dead body,” she whispers to herself as she prepares to walk around the corner and confront her father and Kim.

Scene Five - The Graveyard; Noah’s Tombstone

Leah slowly walks up to her son’s gravesite with a bouquet of flowers. As she reaches the tombstone, she kneels down and places the flowers at the base. She looks at the stone and touches it slowly with her hand. She can’t believe that it’s been another year since her son was taken from her. She feels her eyes swell with water; losing Noah was the hardest thing she’s ever had to go through in her life. While she has learned to cope with the pain on a daily basis, she never forgets him and always remembers him on the anniversary of his death.

“I still love you Noah,” she whispers as a tear falls from her eye. “I miss you every day. You’d be in your last year before high school. I can’t imagine how big you would be right now. I hope you know that I’m so sorry that I let this happen to you.”

“It wasn’t your fault,” Jeff says as he walks up behind Leah and then kneels down next to her. He looks at her and grabs her hand, “We can’t blame ourselves. What happened will never be our fault, it was just a sick twist of fate.”

“I still miss him so much Jeff,” she cries to him as she leans in and hugs him. “Today is especially hard.”

“I know Leah, and I miss him too. I’m glad we are here together,” he says as he holds her.

“Me too,” she says as they continue to hold each other. They finally exit their embrace and they look at each other. He wipes her tears away from her face. “Where’s Veronica?” she asks him, wondering if his fiancé is hovering near by.

“She’s at work,” he informs her. “She offered to come with me but I told her I wanted to come alone. She understood because she doesn’t really know what it’s like to lose a child,” he tells her as they stand up. “Where’s Robbie today?”

“He’s working,” she quickly replies, knowing that she and Robbie haven’t exactly been seeing eye to eye lately, mostly because she has been distant since learning of Jeff’s pending marriage to Veronica. “He knows that I’m here though. I guess he and Veronica are on the same page about giving us our own space today.”

“That’s good,” he says back to her. “You need the support today.”

“He doesn’t understand the way you do,” she replies to him as she looks into his eyes. “No one ever has understood the way you do.”

“I know,” he says back to her as he touches her face again with his hand. “No one ever will.”

She grabs his other hand and locks it with hers. She moves closer to him and continues to look into his eyes. Slowly, the continue to move closer to each other until their lips are pressed against each other’s, kissing each other softly.

Scene Six - Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Room 412; Los Angeles, California

“What the hell are you talking about?” a shocked Reese asks Dean, who just suggested that Reese do a porn video. “I want to be a model Dean, not some gay porn star!”

Dean shrugs his shoulders, “Okay, I get it. I’m just saying that sometimes you have to do things you don’t expect yourself too before you really break through in the industry.”

“I won’t do porn nor will I pose nude,” Reese replies, standing his ground to his boyfriend. “I want to go home early. I don’t want to be apart of this anymore,” he continues to say, completely frustrated with Dean.

“Reese, come on. Just because you don’t want to do this type of modelling doesn’t mean we should cut our trip short. I have a lot of modelling contacts that I can still take you to meet.”

“I think it does,” Reese replies quickly to him. “I don’t want to be here with you anymore. Now, I’m going for a shower, then I’m booking a plane ticket home. And thanks, but I will pass on your contacts Dean.”

Dean watches as his lover enter the washroom and close the door. He hears the shower start and then he sighs. He knows that Reese would do very well in the gay entertainment world but how can he convince him to pursue it? “I know a star when I see one,” he says to himself.

Scene Seven - The Twin Peaks Executive Hotel; Room 1409

“Hear you out Ernesto?” Victoria replies to her father. “I don’t think there’s anything to listen too. You will stay away from me, or else!”

“Or else what?” Ernesto says with a slight grin on his face. “You’re my daughter, I have every right to see you if I damn well please.”

“Actually you’re wrong Ernesto,” Robbie finally says something to him. “Victoria is not a minor anymore. You have no legal right to see her if she doesn’t want to see you. Plus, we have this for you,” Robbie continues as he hands Ernesto an envelope.

“What’s this?” he asks as he opens it.

“It’s a restraining order,” Victoria smiles over at her father. “You come near me again, I’ll press charges so quickly your head will spin. Although, that would put you back in jail, where you belong.”

Ernesto reads the document and feels his blood boil. “Come on Robbie, I’m done here,” Victoria tells him as they walk out of the suite.

Ernesto watches the door slam shut. He walks over the bar and pours himself a glass of whiskey. He slams one back then he walks over and picks up the restraining order. He starts to laugh as he rips into many tiny pieces. “We will see about that Marbella, we will see.”

Scene Eight - River Side Delicatessen

“I’m not interrupting, am I?” Craig asks as he approaches the table where Andy and Donovan are sitting. Craig quickly notes that Andy moves his hand off Donovan’s hand as soon as he approaches. He isn’t sure what’s going on, but he knows that Andy does have a history of cheating, as he knows that he slept with Reese while he was dating JC a few years ago. If Andy is headed down the same path, Craig wants to know now before he gets in any deeper with Andy.

“Not at all,” Andy says standing up and hugs his boyfriend quickly. “Craig, this is my friend Donovan Moretti. Donovan, this is my boyfriend Craig Benton.”

“Nice to meet you,” Donovan quickly replies, but is clearly still shaken by learning that his father is out of jail. “Andy, I hate to cut this short, but I should go and make sure my sister is okay. We’ll do lunch again soon?”

Andy nods and smiles at Donovan, “Yea for sure, I’d like that.”

“It really was nice to meet you Craig,” Donovan says as he stands up. “Excuse me.”

Craig watches Donovan leave, “So who was he?”

Andy blushes a little, “He’s Victoria’s brother. We met and we’ve become friends.”

“He’s good looking,” Craig tells his boyfriend back. “And gay, I assume.”

“Yes to both,” Andy chuckles back to him. “Look, what you walked in on wasn’t what you think Craig.”

“What am I thinking, Andy?”

“That I was holding his hand and cheating on you,” Andy replies with an arched eyebrow. “Donovan has a lot of family drama going on, and he just got some news. I was just being a friend.”

“Okay,” Craig replies to him, not wanting to get into this in a public space.

“Okay?” Andy asks him. “That’s it? No more questions?”

“You told me what happened, I believe you.”

Andy smiles and hugs his boyfriend. With his past boyfriends, they would have made a bigger issue with this than he is. “You’re wonderful, you know that?”

“I do, so don’t forget it,” Craig replies back to him, hoping that he can trust Andy.

Scene Nine - The Pampa Grill

Eva approaches Natasha still holding Natasha’s dropped lip stick when she sees Natasha listening to Bob and Kim’s conversation. She moves closer and happens to over hear Bob agree to go to Vegas with Kim to elope.

“Natasha!” Eva whispers over to her, causing Natasha to turn around and see her mother standing there. “What on earth do you think you’re doing?”

“I’m about to stop my father from making the biggest mistake of his life,” she replies to Eva, knowing that she has to do something to stop Bob and Kim from getting married.

“No, you will not,” Eva says coming up to her and grabbing her by the wrist and dragging her away. “You need to let your father make his own decisions. If he wants to go and get married, then you need to accept that and let him. You can’t control everything that happens Natasha! You have to let people live their own lives.”

“How dare you,” Natasha replies to her, forcing her wrist out of Eva’s hand. “Don’t you come to me and try to lecture me! Not after all the lies you’ve told over the years.”

“Natasha,” Eva replies, trying to stay calm with her. “I’m just trying to tell you what the right thing is. And the right thing is letting your father live the life he wants to live.”

“Shut up! Just shut up!” Natasha says back to her mother. “I’m going to talk to my father and make him understand why this would be a mistake.”

Natasha walks over to the booth where Kim and Bob are and sees that they have already left. “Great,” she says looking back at Eva. “Are you happy now? They’ve left. I probably won’t get the chance to even stop them now! If they get married, I will blame you for this Eva!”

Scene Ten - The Graveyard

Madeline walks along the path in the graveyard enjoying the air. She came to the graveyard to see Preston and Olivia’s tombstones today looking for guidance after Robin told her that she and Cory have reunited. She hates that she has lost Cory and she doesn’t know where to go next. She often visits her parents when she needs guidance. Being near them gives her peace of mind and the ability to see things more clearly. She still knows that she loves Cory and if Robin has reunited with him, she will get some kind of revenge on her, and him in some regards for leading her on for so many months.

As she walks along the path, she hears some voices to the left side of her. She stops and sees Leah and Jeff talking closely at Noah’s grave. Soon, she spies them sharing a soft kiss.

“My goodness,” Madeline says to herself knowing that Jeff is engaged and Leah is married. “Together at Noah’s grave kissing. Maybe this is a sign,” she whispers as she continues to watch them. “I could get revenge on Robin by revealing Paige’s paternity. Maybe they wouldn’t be too upset with the truth coming out after all,” she says to herself as she continues to watch the kiss unfold in front of her, wondering what her next move should be.

Next on One Day at a Time
