Scene One - Twin Peaks General Hospital; The Waiting Room

Shane opens the chart and quickly reviews Adam’s file before he enters the waiting room as he wants to ensure he knows all of the facts before he faces Helen. Once he does, he quickly sees Helen sitting near the window. He took over from Victoria once her shift was over because Adam’s surgery took so long to complete. It’s not rare for doctor’s to switch off mid-surgery if the procedure takes a long time. The hospital would rather have alert doctor’s than doctor’s that are losing their energy in the OR.

As he steps in, he looks at Helen and wonders what’s going through her mind. He can’t imagine what he would be thinking if it were Natasha in the OR after being shot. He wonders what happened as the last time he went to visit Helen, she and Adam were on their way back to each other after a rocky year. He gave her a ring and they were planning to renew their wedding vows; now he is laying in the hospital fighting for his life. So little can turn things around. As he looks at Helen, he can’t help but wonder what really happened and how she is holding up. She has red circles under her eyes, clearly from the tears she has been shedding and she looks exhausted as she probably hasn’t slept since Adam has been brought in to the hospital. He slowly approaches her, which causes her to turn and look at him. She gets a slight grin on her face, as she is happy to see a familiar face.

“Shane, I’m so glad you’re here,” she says, her throat hoarse and feeling dehydrated.

“I brought you some water,” he says passing her a water bottle, knowing that she hadn’t let the waiting room. “You need to keep your energy up Helen. I know the nurses have asked you to go home and you don’t want to leave Adam. I understand that, but you won’t be any good to him if you’re not in tip top shape.”

She opens the bottle and quickly drinks about half of it as she tries to listen to him and drink at the same time. She looks back at him after she swallows, “How is he? Victoria came to visit me last time and she said the operation was getting more complicated.”

“Victoria’s shift ended and I took over,” he informs her. “The surgery was a success. Adam is alive and well. He is very lucky. The bullets were lodged in him deep, the second bullet was close to his spinal cord.”

Helen looks concerned, “That’s what Victoria said. What does that mean? Really, Shane? I trust you more than I trust her.”

Shane looks at Helen and can see that she does trust him, which makes sense after everything they have gone through together with Cassie and Dawn. He comes up to her and she quickly grabs his hand and looks him in the eyes. “Please, tell me everything.”

Shane sits next to her, “The bullet near his spinal cord was just in an awful position. He’s still in critical condition,” he informs her. “We got the bullet out, but when he awakes we do not know what his condition will be.”

Helen shakes her head, “I don’t understand. He survived, isn’t that a good thing?”

Shane nods, “Yes, but there’s still a lot of recovering to do. This will be a long road ahead of him.”

Helen quickly hugs Shane, “Thank you for telling me this. I knew I could count on you,” she tells him, feeling his body up against hers.

“You’re welcome,” he whispers back to him.

“Can I see him?”

“Yea, but make sure Dawn doesn’t come here. She shouldn’t see her father like,” he tells her, still looking out for the girl he called his own for so long. “And another thing, make sure you go home and make sure she’s okay. She needs her mother too.”

“I will,” Helen replies as water fills her eyes. “Thank you Shane. I mean it.”

Scene Two - Wild Night

Will and Eva sit across from each other in the night club, each holding a drink in their hands and a large plate of nachos in front of them. Will asked Eva out on a date since they have been so busy with other aspects of their life lately. He thought a nice time out would be good for both of them. A chance to cut loose and forget about the problems that they have been having. Mostly, that she believes her abusive ex-husband has located her and has been stalking her. He requested that she go to Madeline to get her assistance in trying to help uncover the truth about the stalker, but Madeline has told Will that she needs the complete story to help. He knows that Eva hasn’t been very open about her past, but he knows that for anyone to help her, including him, they have to get the entire story.

“Are you having fun?” he asks her as he sets his beer down on the table.

She smiles over to her young lover as she takes a sip of her martini, “It’s nice to get out, but I have to tell you, a club like this really isn’t my scene.”

Will gives her a little chuckle. Sometimes it can become so obvious to him that he’s dating an older woman, and other times he doesn’t even notice. He still enjoys going out to the club once in awhile and it can be easy to forget that she may not. “Do you want to head home?”

“Maybe after we finish these nachos,” she says picking one up and taking a bite. “I am having a good time. The music is just a little loud.”

“It’s nice that we are able to get out,” he tells her taking another drink of his beer. “It’s good to release some of the stress.”

“Are you stressed?” she asks him, locking eyes with him.

Will sighs, “I’m concerned, but you already know that.”

Eva picks up her martini glass and quickly finishes her beverage. She doesn’t like talking about the stalking, or whatever it is, that is happening with her. She is scared to death that her ex has found her, and if he has what it could mean for her future. Furthermore, she knows that she has other secrets; secrets that can never come out.

“We have the police involved Will, we have Madeline involved. I don’t think we should be concerned any longer,” she says matter-of-factly. She wants to derail any more talk of this.

“So that’s it?” he asks upset that she doesn’t seem to care about the scary situation. “We just forget that you could be in danger? We just forget that some creep is out there possibly watching your every move? Forgive me Eva, but I can’t do that.”

“You must!” she yells back at him, then looks around as she doesn’t want to draw attention to her and Will. “I don’t want this to take over our lives!”

“Can you do something, for me? Eva, I could probably let this go if I can get the complete story from you. What all went down with you and your husband?” Will asks her, trying to stay calm although knowing that she probably won’t like his question. He can tell by her reactions that something more must have happened.

Eva glares at him growing tired of his constant grilling of her past. “For the last time William, nothing more happened! This conversation is over!”

He watches as she stands up and quickly walks out of the club. He doesn’t bother getting up to rush after her as he knows that they both need a cooling down period. Something has to give, he tells himself. Somehow, he has to get to the truth. He shakes his head realizing that it will have be uncovered without Eva’s help.

Scene Three - Pampa Grill

“Thank you for having dinner with me,” Andy tells Kim as she sits across from him at their table. He had invited his sister out as it had been awhile since they had sat down and had together time. With all of the drama that is going on with both of them, he really wanted to be there for Kim and hopefully she can listen to him as he is having problems with JC again. He still can’t believe that JC lied to him about the article in the Sun where he exposed Reese as a home wrecker. He had thought that they had moved past this, but not only are they not but JC has now lied to him. “It’s been far too long.”

Kim smiles as she looks over at her brother. She picks up her glass of red wine and brings it to her mouth. “I agree. I needed to get out and talk to someone anyways.”

Andy arches his eyebrow knowing that she must be in referral to her new found relationship with Bob that was exposed at the recent fashion show launch by Dominick. He is rather surprised that she is dating someone so much older than she is, but he just wants his sister to be happy and if that means her dating Bob then so be it. “I can imagine that the last few weeks have been tough on you.”

Kim rolls her eyes a little, “You have no idea Andy. It’s like, every where I go people are talking about me. I don’t really care, but I do care that Natasha is so upset with me,” Kim reveals to her brother. While she has been growing much fonder of Bob, she never wanted to hurt her best friend.

“Do you think she just needs time?” Andy asks her. “I mean, you are sleeping with her father.”

“I don’t know,” Kim says quickly back to him. “It’s not like I set out to purposely hurt Natasha. It’s not like I purposely went out and wanted to have these feelings for Bob. It just … happened.”

“Bob knows his children better than anyone else Kim,” Andy tells her, hoping to make her feel better about the situation. “Give them time, especially Natasha. You two have been through so much together. I’m sure she’ll come around.”

“I hope so Andy. I can’t lose my best friend. But I am falling for Bob,” she reveals to him, admitting her feelings for the first time out loud. “Anyways, what’s going on with you? You sounded upset on the phone earlier.”

Andy sighs, “It’s JC.”

“What about him? I thought you guys were doing good after he agreed to stay in town and give you guys another chance?”

“They were going well,” Andy tells her. “You saw that Sun article though, about Reese being a home wrecker?”

Kim nods, “I can’t believe we published that. I would still like to get to the bottom of that.”

“It was JC that leaked the story,” Andy reveals to her as she covers her mouth in shock. “The worst part is that he lied to me about for a few weeks. I asked him the day the article came out if he was the one behind it and he said no. I defended him to everyone, including Reese. And he was lying! Now I look like the biggest jack ass in the world.”

Kim reaches her hand across the table and grabs Andy’s hand, “I’m so sorry. I can’t believe he would do that to you guys, after you worked so hard to get him back. What are you going to do?”

Andy shrugs, “What can I do? I thought that we could make this work, but his insecurities about Reese are always going to be there. This proves that he can’t leave Reese out of our relationship.”

Kim doesn’t know what Andy is getting at exactly. “Can I give you some advice?” she asks him as he nods his head back to her. “Make sure you don’t rush into anything. Only you know what is best for you and the relationship.”

Andy gives her half a grin, “Yea, I will. Thanks Kim.” Still, he has no idea what he is going to do. He loves JC but his lies may have ruined it all.

Scene Four - The Calimo Mansion, The Guest House; Natasha’s Home

“I have some tea,” Natasha announces to Robbie as she comes into the living room with a tray with a tea pot and two mugs on it. “Thanks for coming over.”

Robbie looks up at his sister and smiles. He can see it all over her face that she is still having a hard time coming to terms with Bob and Kim’s new found relationship. Not that he can blame her; it has been a shock to everyone learning that Bob has already moved on from Sofia so soon after her death. Not only has Bob moved on, but with someone much younger than he is and the woman is Natasha’s best friend. Robbie leans in and pours the tea for his sister.

“I thought we should talk Nat,” he tells her as he passes her a cup of tea. “How are you feeling since learning the truth about Dad and Kim?”

Natasha sighs heavily and takes a sip of her tea. “I don’t know Robbie. I just can’t believe it, still. I mean, Kim, of all people? And so soon after Mom’s death? I don’t know what Dad is thinking these days.”

Robbie leans back into the sofa. “I know, me either. Grief is a funny emotion. Sometimes it can make people do crazy things.”

“That explains Dad then, but what about Kim? I can’t believe that my best friend would do this to our family!” Natasha explains to him. “She had to have known that sleeping with my father would do to me! I mean, who does that? What friend sleeps with her best friend’s Dad?”

Robbie chuckles a little, “Sorry I don’t mean to laugh, but I don’t know. It’s not exactly ideal.”

“No, it’s not,” Natasha quickly snaps back, clearly hurt by Kim’s actions. “You have a weird look on your face, what are you thinking?”

“I don’t know Natasha. I guess, I mean, there’s nothing we can really do?” Robbie replies to her trying to be rational about it. “Bob and Kim are both adults. If they want to be together, it’s not like we can stop them.”

“I know! I just wish they would have some principles!”

“Me too,” he starts to say. He hopes his next thought goes over well with his sister. “I think we should be the bigger people here and tell them that we are okay with the relationship. I don’t think it will last. Do you?”

“I don’t want it to last!” Natasha squeals back to her brother. “I want things to go back to the way they were. I want Mom back and …” she says biting her lip as she feels tears coming to her eyes. Robbie quickly moves over to her and hugs her. “I’m sorry,” she whispers to him not wanting to cry. She misses Sofia so much and knows this never would have happened had she not been killed.

“Don’t be. I feel the same. We have to stay together and be strong right now. Everything will work out, you’ll see,” he says back to her, trying to comfort her.

“I hope you’re right Robbie. I really do.”

Scene Five - Robertson Enterprises; Dominick’s Office

Dominick sits at his desk typing on his computer, thinking about how proud he is of the recent launch of the Blooming Rose and how successful it was. The entire launch, including the fashion show, went off without a hitch and the initial reaction has been amazingly good for the perfume and fashion line. After all the work he and his team has done, he can’t help but feel like a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders. He wonders what Sofia would be thinking right now if she was still alive. He created the entire line for her and dedicated it to her; would she be happy? He smiles to himself, thinking that she would be beside her with happiness. Maybe with everything that has happened, they would finally have a chance to be together without hiding their relationship. Dominick feels his heart break a little knowing that he will never get to see her face again or kiss her lips. The only thing he has is the Blooming Rose and he will continue to work to ensure it is as successful as ever.

He stands up and slowly walks over to his window and looks up to the sky. “I miss you Sofia,” he whispers to himself as he puts his head down. He turns around when he hears his office door opening. Thinking he may see Donovan or Trenyce, he is stunned when he sees Bob standing at his doorway. “What are you doing here?”

Bob doesn’t move from the doorway, he just glares at his rival. “Do you really have to ask?” he asks calmly, trying to intimidate Dominick. Bob knew that he had to come and pay him a visit after Dominick exposed his affair with Kim to the public at the fashion show. Dominick, once again, has put his family in the turmoil, and Bob will not stand for it.

“I think I just did ask you,” Dominick quickly replies to him not afraid by Bob. “You’re not welcome in my office. Or my building, so I’ll ask you again what do you want?”

Bob finally moves closer to Dominick and points his finger at him, “You are messing with the wrong man,” he warns him as he comes up closer to him. “How dare you expose my private life to everyone. That’s not your concern, nor there’s!”

Dominick laughs at Bob, getting a kick out of how Bob is trying to defend his actions of sleeping with Kim. “You’re a piece of work Bob. Your wife, the woman you claim to have loved more than anything in the world, has been dead for 8 months before you start shacking up with another woman! Not just any other woman, but your daughter’s best friend! Granted, Kim is a beautiful woman, but grow some class for crying out loud! Sofia is probably turning in her grave right now.”

The final sentence by Dominick is the last straw for Bob. He forms a fist with his hand and moves it back. Before Dominick knows what is happening, Bob’s fist is smashing his nose in. Dominick falls back a little, and quickly nods his hand up to his bloody nose. “You bastard!” he yells at Bob still shocked by his act of violence.

“Don’t you ever mention my wife’s name again,” Bob warns him, fed up with Dominick’s infatuation with Sofia, even after her death. “And stay out of my life Dominick, or that punch will just be the beginning.” He turns and storms out of the office leaving Dominick to tend to his bloody nose.

Scene Six - The Black House; Adam, Helen & Dawn’s Home

Helen opens the door to the house and looks around. She hasn’t been in the house since the shooting, but after Shane told her that she should head home to get some rest she decided that she would do just that. She learned that Adam wouldn’t be waking up until the morning anyways, so she thought it would be a good idea to come home and see Dawn, shower, change and get some much needed rest.

She turns the corner and sees the chair that she was hiding behind right before the shooting happened. She shakes her head quickly, not wanting to think about the shooting itself. She still can’t believe what has all happened. She keeps going and spots the basement door. She quickly walks by it wanting to forget that dreadful night. Maybe coming home was a mistake, she tells herself.

“I have to keep it together,” she tells herself as she walks into the kitchen and sees the nanny with Dawn. She quickly excuses the nanny and picks up Dawn. “Hey baby girl!” she says as she holds her child. “I’ve missed you. Have you been a good girl?” As soon as she picks up her daughter, Helen knows coming home was the right thing to do. She had missed her girl.

Dawn nods her head yes before they hug again. Helen then hears the doorbell and assumes that it’s the nanny having forgotten something. “You go play and I’ll see what Hilda left behind, okay?” Helen tells Dawn, who rushes over to her toy box.

Helen slowly walks to the door and opens it revealing a man behind it. Helen gets an awkward smile on her face, “What are you doing here?”

“What? No hello to your brother Helen?” the man asks as he walks into the house, leaving Helen feel some what surprised.
