Scene One -- The Sugarbowl

Reese sits in the back booth in the corner of the coffeehouse, his eyes still red and wet from the tears he shed at the memorial service earlier. After the service, he asked Andy to meet him at the coffeehouse so they could have a chance to catch up since the memorial service wasn’t an appropriate place for it. He looks up and sees Andy walking towards him with two latte’s.

“Here’s your latte. I sprinkled some cinnamon on top, just the way you like it,” Andy explains as he passes the cup to Reese.

Reese manages to crack a small smile, knowing that Andy remembered one of his favourite things to do with his latte. “Just the way I like it, thank you.”

“How are you? Really?” Andy asks, looking at his former lover. It has been months since Andy has seen Reese, and he has to admit that he looks pretty good. His hair is a touch shorter than before Reese moved, but otherwise he looks good. His large biceps bulge through the white polo that Reese wears, which Andy noticed immediately.

“I don’t really know,” Reese admits as he takes a drink of his latte. “I didn’t come home for reading week because my parents told me that I should stay in LA and study. They promised that this spring when I would come home for good we would go away together. All four of us on a family trip. They seemed so excited,” he says getting misty in his eyes. “I just can’t believe that they’re gone. It’s so surreal.”

Andy takes a deep breathe. He has no idea what Reese is experiencing right now. His parents left him before he even knew who they were. “Is there anything I can do to help?”

Reese looks over and makes eye contact with him. “You’re doing it, just by being here with me. The last thing I wanted to do was to go home and be around all of their stuff,” he explains, knowing that he and Madeline will have to go through the mansion soon enough. “Enough talk about my parents. How are you? What’s new with you?”

Andy bites his lip and takes another drink before he responds, “It seems like a lot has changed since you moved.”

Reese nods, “I’m listening!”

“Where to begin?” Andy smiles back. “I got a promotion at the Sun! I’m writing a weekly column now!”

“Wow, that’s awesome! You were working so hard before. You deserve that,” Reese tells him, excited for Andy and his career development.

“Thanks Reese.”

“Are you seeing anyone?” Reese blurts out, immediately regretting that he asked as soon as it came out of his mouth. He isn’t sure he wants to know the answer; part of him hopes that he’s not, so they could possibly pick up again.

Andy stops again and their eyes lock. Andy recalls how uncomfortable JC was at the church after Reese hugged him and they went into the service together. It was a new side to JC that he hadn’t seen before: jealously. He understands how and why JC would be jealous, even though Andy doesn’t think there is anything to be jealous of. Reese ended their relationship last Christmas when he moved away. Andy knows that JC makes him very happy. He loves the drama free relationship with JC, which is polar opposite from his with Reese. “I am, actually, yea,” he finally says. “His name is JC, he was with me at the church.”

“The Latin guy?” he asks surprised and a little jealous of how hot JC is.

“Yea, that’s him. He’s Spanish. He’s a photographer, he does a lot of work for the Sun too.”

“Cool,” Reese replies, feeling a little awkward. Part of him had hoped that Andy was going to say he was single, still pinning away for him. “How serious are you guys?”

“We just moved in together, actually.”

“Wow, that seems … fast.”

“When something feels right, it feels right,” Andy quickly responds, almost defending himself, their conversation quickly taking a different direction.

“I see,” Reese says slowly feeling the tension between the two.

“How about you? Are you seeing anyone?”

Reese shakes his head no, “I was too busy with school and volleyball to really see anyone in LA. There are a lot of good looking guys, but I was more focused on the task at hand.” Both true, but Reese knows that the real reason he wasn’t seeing anyone is because he still has feelings for Andy; he always has. He only moved to try to get over him but it has failed. He loves Andy just as much as he did when he was in Twin Peaks. He just doesn’t hold the anger against him anymore.

“How long are you staying in town?” Andy asks next.

“I’m not sure. For awhile anyways, at least until everything is wrapped up with my parents estate. Maybe we can see each other again?”

Andy looks at Reese again and smiles, “I’d like that a lot Reese.”

Reese reaches over and grabs Andy’s hand, causing both of them to feel something neither one had felt in a long time. “I’d like that too.”

Scene Two -- The Wilkins Estate; Preston & Olivia’s Home

Madeline sits at the dinning room table alone drinking a tall glass of water. She looks around the dinning room and has so many memories coming back to her from years past with her brother and her parents. The sounds of Preston and Olivia’s laughter and the smell of her mother’s cooking are fresh in her mind. She stands up and walks over the hutch, where she sees her mother’s favourite china. She runs her finger along the large serving plate as she continues to have more memories of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.

She turns around and grabs her water feeling dehydrated from all the tears she has cried. She can’t cry anymore, she realizes. It’s like she’s dried up for the time being, which is good because she wants to go through some of her parents clothing and start donating some things to charity, only saving certain pieces for her and Reese. She finishes her water and decides to go the closet. As she walks out, the front door bell ring.

“Who could that be?” she asks herself as she walks towards the door. She opens it and sees Will standing there. “What do you want?”

Will pauses before he answers. He realizes that Madeline is furious with him for sleeping with Olivia behind her back, and Preston’s. Yet he knows that this is a time for them to come together and help each other during the grieving process. “Please just hear me out?” he asks with his big brown eyes.

“You have 5 minutes,” she says standing at the door way, not even prepared to let him in.

“I don’t even know where to begin Maddie,” he tells her. “I know it’s painful to hear, but I loved your mother. I loved her so much. I … I just want someone to talk to right now. Someone else that loved her. Someone to grieve with,” he says as a tear escapes his eye. He quickly wipes it and looks up to her again.

Madeline keeps her stone cold face on and looks at him. “Do you know something Will? There was a time when I would have shared everything with you. Do you remember that? I gave you everything I had. And what did you do? You lied and you cheated on me! With my mother no less! So forgive me if I’m not going to welcome you with open arms! You’re struggling? We are all struggling! Find a way to cope,” she yells at him before she backs up and slams the door in his face. She leans up against the closed door and suddenly feels her eyes swell with water again. Her dried up moment passed.

Scene Three -- The Calimo Mansion

“We’ve been expecting you, please come in,” Sofia greets Kim as she walks into the mansion. “Let Rosario take your jacket. I’ll pour you some tea.”

“Thank you,” Kim tells Rosario as she takes her jacket. Kim walks into the living room, where she sees Bob and Sofia sitting on the sofa waiting for her. Kim had called them with an update on Natasha. Ever since her conversation with Natasha at the church, Kim has thought about nothing else. Seeing Natasha try to do some drugs was horrifying. She has been racking her brain, wondering if she should reveal what she saw and she has decided that she has to tell someone. The more people that know about Natasha, the more possibilities there are that people can help her. “Thank you guys for seeing me on such short notice.”

“It sounded important,” Bob says as he takes a drink of his tea. “Have you spoke with Natasha?”

“I have.”

“What did she say? Did you learn anything new?” Sofia asks eager to know about her daughter.

“It’s not good news,” Kim tells them looking at them. “I don’t know how to tell you this. I still can’t believe it myself.”

“Tell us what? Sofia asks again, pressing Kim.

Kim looks over at them, “Natasha’s doing drugs. I’m positive Ryan is behind it.”

“How can you be sure?” Bob asks in shock.

“I saw her at the church,” Kim begins as Sofia gets up and walks around the Sofia, her hand covering her mouth. “She didn’t look so great. She had little sores on her face. It’s very common for people doing hard substances. Anyways, we started talking and we were making progress … then she went into her purse and pulled out a small baggie. It was cocaine inside. She needed a fix I grabbed it from her and the bag ripped open, the drugs were gone,” Kim continues to recount her story. “Natasha as devastated. She shook in my arms for awhile and cried and recounted how she feels so alone, and that’s why she is with Ryan, because she’s not alone when she’s with him.”

“My God,” Sofia whispers as her hand reaches Bob’s. “This is worse than I had thought.”

Bob squeezes his wife’s hand and looks over at Kim. “Thank you for sharing this with us. Now we now what we’re up against.”

“What are we going to do?” Kim asks them, wanting to help more if she can.

Sofia turns her back to them for a moment and remembers how she asked Dominick for help. She wonders if he will still come through on his end, as he agreed. “Bob and I will discuss and see what the next recourse should be,” she says, hoping to hear from Dominick sooner rather than later. “We will be in touch.”

Scene Four -- Twin Peaks General Hospital; Victoria’s Office

Victoria paces around in her office, waiting for Chris to show up. She is nervous as she is going to tell him about her mistake Las Vegas; getting drunk and marrying Vinny. At first, she and Vinny had decided not to tell anyone what happened. But at the memorial service, Meggan saw them taking off their rings and realized what had happened. The look on Meggan’s face is still fresh in her mind. Of course, the reveal also lead to Meggan having another drink, but Victoria continues to tell herself that she is not responsible for Meggan’s drinking. Addicts will find any excuse to drink, Victoria knows this, but she can’t help but feeling a little responsible. And now that Meggan knows the truth about the marriage, she feels like she has no choice but to tell Chris the truth too. She would rather he hear it from her, rather than someone else.

At last, the door knocks and her office door opens. She turns and looks over at Chris and smiles to him. “Hey,” she manages to say as her lower lip quivers a bit.

“What’s up? It sounded important on the phone,” Chris replies as he walks up to her and hugs her. As they exit the hug, he leans in and kisses her on the lips. He has missed her the last few weeks as he has been busy with the custody hearing and the fall out from that. “I’ve missed you.”

She smiles at him as their lips part, “I’ve missed you too. Sorry that I went away, I just needed time to clear my head.”

“I understand. It was a trying time for everyone,” he replies to her. “I should tell you something though. Something I haven’t had the chance to mention.”

Victoria arches her eyebrow and looks at him intensely.

“I asked Daisy to move back in with me and Trenyce. With Andrew, of course. I just thought it would be easier if all of us were under one roof,” Chris explains to her, knowing that Victoria probably won’t be too happy with the development. Not that he can blame her, really. If he was in her shoes, he wouldn’t be very happy either.

“I see,” Victoria says softly.

“She’ll have her own room and everything,” Chris quickly adds, feeling the need to further justify himself to her.

Victoria turns around and closes her eyes for a moment. She went away to Las Vegas for this very reason, she continues to feel incredibly insecure about Chris’ relationship with Daisy. It was bad enough before, but with them living together now … she doesn’t know what to say. “I guess it’s a good thing. Andrew can be around everyone that loves him now. Are you happy?” she asks, her back still to him.

“Yea, I think it’ll be great. I just want to have the chance to be a Dad to my kid, you know?”

“I do know,” she says, finally turning back around. “I guess that means you’ll be coming to my place on your nights off from being Dad,” she winks, trying to make a light moment.

“I’d love that,” he smiles back to her. “So what did you have to tell me?”

Victoria looks down at her hands, where her ring should be. She takes a deep breathe, “I did something in Vegas. Something that I’m not proud of.”

This time, it’s Chris that arches his eyebrow to her. “I was with Vinny, and we were at the Casino. We drank way too much and …”

Chris folds her arms in front of him and sighs. “You slept with Vinny?” he asks in disbelief, thinking he knows the end of the story.

“No, I didn’t sleep with him,” Victoria replies. “I married him.”

Chris’ mouth falls open, shocked by the revelation that Victoria just announced. “You’re married?” he manages to ask. “I guess I should be going then.”

“Chris wait, no,” Victoria calls out to him as he walks towards the door. “It’s not like that.”

Chris turns and looks at Victoria. “I think it speaks volumes to our relationship Victoria, that on a vacation you can go get plastered and marry someone else.”

Before Victoria can respond, Chris is walking out and the office door slams shut behind him, leaving her wondering if she even has a relationship anymore.

Scene Five -- Caper’s

Adam pulls into the parking lot that is behind the restaurant as he is meeting Helen for a late lunch. As he steps out of the car, the spring air hits him. He’s glad that spring is back as the winter was a long season for him. The cold winter days and nights certainly made him feel more depressed more often with his grief over his baby dying last summer. As he walks towards the sidewalk that leads to the front, he notices Cassie at her car. She’s pulling some large bags out of the trunk.

“Need some help?” he asks approaching her. He quickly can see the bags are filled with various food items and other accessories for the restaurant.

“Sure, thanks Adam. I didn’t realize how much I had bought. Our supplier is running behind,” Cassie explains as she passes him a few bags from the trunk. And then he spots it; in the trunk of Cassie’s car there looks to be some kind of cord; it almost looks like a car piece.

“What’s that? Is everything okay with your car?” Adam asks, curious as to what the object is. “I would hate for something to happen while your driving with Dawn.”

Cassie quickly shuts the trunk of the car and looks at Adam. She puts a smile on her face knowing that she has been meaning to get rid of the break cord that she ripped from Olivia’s SUV, but she hasn’t had the chance yet. “It’s nothing. I actually found it on the side of the road and have been meaning to dispose of it. It was right in the middle of the road, and with all the accidents that we’ve seen lately, I didn’t want someone to hit it and lose control.”

“That’s nice of you,” Adam explains to her, not sure if he really believes her story or not. He knows that Cassie shouldn’t have any reason to lie, but there’s something about her story that doesn’t add up in his mind. If anything, it was something in her demeanour, her voice that was off.

“Let’s get these bags inside, shall we?” Cassie tells him, wanting to get away from her car. As they walk, she knows that she has to dispose of the car piece sooner rather than later.

Scene Six -- The Sugarbowl

Kim finishes ordering her coffee from the barista at the coffee house. As she waits, she cant help but think of the looks on Bob and Sofia's faces when she told them about Natasha's drug problem. She, herself, is struggling to understand how and why Natasha is going down that path. The words of "I am alone" from Natasha's mouth ring in Kim's
ears. She turns her head and spots Will about to exit the Sugarbowl.

"Will!," she calls out as she grabs her coffee and rushes over to his side. Like Natasha, Will doesn't look so great. "How are you?"

Will looks at her with heavy eyes. He hasn’t been sleeping well since news of Olivia's death came out. With Madeline continuing to reject his offerings to grieve together, he feels lost, and without support. "I've been better," he reveals softly wanting to escape the busy coffeehouse.

"Do you want to take a walk and talk to me. Olivia's death must be hard," she says as she opens the door and he walks out first.

"Maddie hates me," he tells her as they walk. "She found out about Olivia and I, she doesn't understand."

"She lost her mother and found out that her mother betrayed her in horrible way, you have to expect some resentment from her. You need to focus on you and your healing."

Will sighs and thinks back to the day Olivia went to the cabin; they had made love and she finally admitted to Will that she loved him. They were going to be together finally. "It just seems cruel, for us to finally accept our true feelings, only for her to be taken away
from me. I love her so much," he tells Kim as he fights back tears. “How am I supposed to go on?”

"I know, try to reflect on the good times you had together, ok? And always know that I‘m here for you, if you need to talk."

Will smiles and nods “Thanks,” he says knowing that the memories he as of Olivia are all he has left.

Scene Seven - The Park

Natasha sits on a bench in the park looking out at the river. The current is fast today, almost like it’s making up for the extended winter Twin Peaks saw this year. As she looks out, she can’t help but reflect on her conversation with Kim that she had at Olivia and Preston’s memorial service. She didn’t mean to open up so much about how she has been feeling, but at the same time it felt so great for her to finally get some of that off her chest. While she has been enjoying Ryan’s company and the drugs he gives her definitely numb her pain, she doesn’t feel like she can truly talk to him about the issues that are bothering her.

“Hey stranger,” Shane says to her, as he comes up beside as he is on a run in the park. He wipes his forehand as he approaches her and takes his IPod headphones out of his ears.

“Shane, hi,” she says looking up but quickly looks away from him. As she admitted to Kim, she still loves Shane and she regrets not going after him more when Cassie announced her pregnancy. She has isolated herself from him. “Beautiful day for a run.”

“That’s what I thought,” he tells her as he observes her. He can’t help but notice the bags under her eyes and the large sores on her face. Immediately, he knows that’s wrong with her. He has seen it too many times at the hospital with Jane Doe’s and others that are on drugs. “How are you?”

“I’m okay,” she replies, even though she is lying to him.

“Really? You don’t look so great.”

“Gee, thanks,” she coldly replies to him.

He leans down in front of her and grabs her hand, “I know you’re going through a rough time right now Nat, but you’re better than this. You’re better than what you’ve become.”

Natasha’s eyes fill with water and she quickly turns away from him. He can tell that he has to gotten to her so he stands back up. “If you ever need anything, you know where to find me,” he continues before he puts his IPod headphones back on. He stops and looks at the woman he loves and quickly thinks of Cassie. He knows that they have started to have a real relationship and a real marriage, but if he is true to himself and his heart, he knows that he is in love with Natasha, and always will be. He takes one final look and wishes he could help before he continues his run. Natasha looks up at Shane as he races away and feels her heart sink. Is he right? She has no idea what to do or what is going on with her. Suddenly her hand starts to shake. She looks at her watch and realize she needs a fix. She stands up slowly and starts to walk back towards the hotel, where Ryan is hopefully waiting for her with a line or two. She’ll be able to think more clearly then, she tells herself.

Scene Eight -- Top of the Peak Motel; Room 13

A loud knocking on the door awakes Ryan. He stumbles out of the bed and quickly puts some grey sweat pants on. He had been sleeping off a crazy high that he got with Natasha earlier in the day. She didn’t want to sleep however, so she went out for a walk while he crashed. He’s hoping that Natasha just forgot her room key and she has returned; he could use a good blow job or something along those lines. He reaches the door and sees a man that he doesn’t recognize.

“Can I help you?” he asks, rubbing his eyes as the sun light blares behind the man.

“Ryan McQuillian?” Dominick asks slowly as he enters the motel room. He looks around and is utterly disgusted. He immediately notices some of Natasha’s belongings and knows that he’s at the right room. He would never have come to the motel room had Sofia not paid him a visit and asked him to help her.

“That’s me, can I help you?” Ryan replies, wanting to know what a man like Dominick is doing looking for him.

“I’m here to make you an offer,” Dominick says as he turns and faces Ryan. “I hear you like money, and a lot of it.”

Ryan arches his eyebrow and smirks a little. “Doesn’t everyone?”

Dominick laughs a little, “I suppose that could be said, yes. I’m willing to give you a lot of money. Right here, right now.”

Ryan folds his arms and sighs, “And what do I have to do? I am assuming the money is not free?”

“Correct again. You’re a smart guy,” Dominick informs him. “He’s my deal. I’ll give you five million dollars, cash, if you leave Twin Peaks today. And never come back.”
