The Sugarbowl Sergio
continues to sit in the back booth of the coffee house. He has his peppermint
tea in front of him but he is scrolling on his Instagram feed. While he looks
at the various images, like about a third of them, his mind is on his conversation
that he had with Donovan earlier in the day; they both agreed that they liked
that they had sex the previous night, but Donovan warned him that he needed Sergio
to get over his jealousy issues, which stem back to Donovan's affair with Lukas.
"You look deep in thought," a voice calls out at his table. Sergio
puts his phone down and sees Nicholas standing in front of him with a coffee.
"I just got a coffee and am on a quick break from work, I could sit and chat
with you, if you'd like?" "Sure, I'd like that," Sergio
sits across from him. "I know we've met a few times but I know we aren't
close, exactly, so I appreciate you coming over." "It's a small
town, and Donovan and I have been through some stuff together," Nicholas
chuckles back to him. "And now that you're with Donovan, it is nice to get
to know you better." "Thanks and I agree, this is a small town,"
Sergio tells him. "I'm still adjusting to it. I'm originally from Mexico
City, and that is not a small city." Nicholas chuckles back to him.
"You know what's interesting? I was a priest for a while, and please don't
ask, it's a long story," Nicholas continues to chuckle as Sergio looks back
at him in surprise. "But I did some work with the church in Mexico City.
It is a vibrant city." "I'm glad you agree on that."
"So, when I got here, you looked a million miles away, do you want to
talk about it?" Nicholas asks him quickly. "To be honest, Donovan
and I seem to be in a very good place, only I am struggling to learn to trust
again," Sergio admits to him. "Donovan hurt me last year and for a while,
I didn't think I could get over, but we are trying." "I see,"
Nicholas replies to him. "I can see how it can take time to rebuild trust,
but if you want my advice, it is worth the journey if you and Donovan have something
good, and from what I can see, you do." "Thanks Nicholas,"
Sergio smiles back to him. "I'll take that advice to heart." The
Pink Flamingo at the River Rock Casino Donovan moves into the restaurant
and scans the dinning room for a business contact that he is supposed to meet
for a meeting. When he doesn't see him, he looks over at the bar and sees Jarrod
sitting alone with a martini in front of him. Donovan starts to walk over to see
his friend as he knows that it is a tad early to be drinking; he just hopes that
everything is okay with Jarrod. "Hey Jarrod," Donovan says as
he sits next to Jarrod. Jarrod looks over at Donovan and smiles at the
sight; he can't deny that Donovan looks very dashing in his dark navy suit. "Hi,
how are you?" "Doing alright," Donovan replies to him.
"I am meeting someone here for a business meeting but they haven't arrived
yet, and that's when I saw you. Everything good? It's early for a drink?"
"Yea, I know," Jarrod replies to him as he takes a sip of his martini.
"I am trying my best with Nicholas, but it is just
things are just still
weird, you know? He has been very consumed by something that makes me feel like
we don't have a lot of time to get to know one another again." "What
is consuming him? The One Day House?" "No," Jarrod rolls
his eyes back to him. "Andy's drinking. He is blaming himself non-stop for
that, and no matter what I say to him, he continues to feel that way."
"He and Andy were very close," Donovan explains to him. "It
makes sense that he still cares. And, Andy did start to drink once Nicholas left
him and went back to you. I can understand his pov." "I suppose
that's all true," Jarrod sighs heavily. "It just makes me feel that
he cares more about Andy's drinking than he does getting to know me again and
rebuilding our relationship, you know." "I'm sure he doesn't
mean to make you feel that way," Donovan says to him. "But, honestly,
Jarrod, the only way he will understand any of this is if you talk to him."
"I'm worried that it will just escalate into another fight," Jarrod
explains to him. "Sorry, I'm being a downer today, I'm just blue."
"You're allowed to feel this way," Donovan replies to him. "Just
remember, communication will make things better. I see my business contact, I
have to get going, but let's talk soon, okay?" "Cheers,"
Jarrod raises his glass to Donovan, who rushes away. Jarrod takes another sip
of his martini, wondering if he and Nicholas will ever get back to the place they
were before his death was faked all those years ago, or if he is just holding
on to a feeling of nostalgia. ***
At another table, Chris
sits alone with his laptop open. He came to the restaurant to try to get some
work done, but he is running into more dead ends as more of the customers he has
in his contact list, still do not need any work for him. He knows that Trenyce
has been pressing him to make more money because they are in a pinch financially,
but he is trying that to be more difficult than he assumed. "I told
her that going to a corporate job would my last choice," he whispers to himself.
"But since these contracts aren't going anywhere, I wonder if I should look,
just out of curiosity." He opens an internet browser and types in
Roboto and presses search. The company's website appears in front of him and Chris
scans the page until he finds the "careers" link. He clicks it and waits
for the current positions to load. "Executive - Advertising &
Marketing," Chris reads the fourth posting. He clicks that links and his
eyes open wider in surprise when he sees the salary range. "That's more money
than I made last year." He shuts his eyes for a moment knowing that
his life will change if he goes to a corporate job, but after Trenyce told him
that they can make it work, he finds himself clicking the "apply" link.
"Here goes nothing
" he says as he starts to fill out the job
application form. ***
At the table in the back corner, Cory
sits across from Sophie as they father and daughter are having an early lunch
together. Cory has been trying to spend more time with Sophie since her miscarriage
last fall; he knows that the emotional turmoil can take its toll on her, and he
wants to ensure that she is getting the help that she needs, if required.
"You are taking me out for lunch far more often these days," Sophie
giggles to him before she takes a sip of her sparkling wine. "Not that I'm
complaining, it's nice to see you, Dad." Cory nods back to his daughter.
"Now that you're living with your mother again, I don't get to see you every
day, and I want to ensure that you're still doing well. I hope you know that you
can come to me with anything that is troubling you." Sophie pauses
for a moment as she thinks back to seeing Natasha and Max in bed with one another.
The sight made her sick to her stomach; she still can't believe that her mother
would sleep with her then-boyfriend, but she did. All Sophie can think about is
getting revenge on her mother, but she has no idea how to do that just yet.
"Soph?" Cory calls out causing Sophie to snap back into reality.
"Are you okay? You looked like you went into a daydream." "I
I
guess I am struggling with something," she finds herself admitting to her
father. "But I will get over it." "It's not good to keep
that stuff bottled up," Cory replies to her. "Why don't you tell me
what's going on?" Sophie, again, pauses as she looks back at her
father. She knows that she can't tell him that she wants to get revenge on Natasha.
"It's just
well
some days are still better than others," she
tells him. "You know, with the miscarriage." "I know,"
he reaches over and grabs his hand. "These things take time, but Soph, maybe
it's time you start talking to someone? I want you to move on and not keep these
feelings inside." "Yea," Sophie nods back to him. "Maybe
you're right. Maybe it's time I deal with everything I'm feeling inside."
The Calimo Mansion
"Was it me, or was Sophie in a rush
to leave here today?" Natasha asks Shane as they face one another in the
living room of the mansion that they live in together. Natasha had hoped to have
a day to spend with her daughter as she took the day off from work, but Sophie
rushed out as she claimed that she was meeting Cory for lunch. Shane, who also
has the day off, noted that Sophie didn't seem to like the idea of spending the
day with Natasha. "You weren't wrong about that," Shane looks
back at her. "She barely even said goodbye." "Something
is going on with my daughter," Natasha puts her hand on her hip. "And
I am determined to get to the bottom of it." "You think it is
more than the miscarriage?" Shane asks her quickly. "I have
no idea," Natasha admits to him with a heavy sigh. "But right before
Christmas, she became very cold to me, and I have no idea why. All I've been trying
to do is support and love her, but I get the cold shoulder at every turn."
"Maybe she needs something else to focus on?" Shane asks with a
shrug. "Maybe if there was a positive event in her life things would start
to melt this freeze." "A positive event?" Natasha asks
with an arched eyebrow. "What are you talking about?" "A
wedding," Shane says with a twinkle in his eye. "Our wedding, Natasha."
Natasha looks back at in surprise. "Our wedding? What are you talking
about?" "I want us to get married," Shane tells her. "And
for real this time, I don't want anything to get in the way of us being husband
and wife, Natasha. So, what do you think? Want to be my wife
again?"
"I'd love nothing more," Natasha smiles as she moves up to him and
kisses him on the lips. "Let's do it, let's get married!" The
Richardson Estate; Meggan, Donovan, & Logan's Home
Meggan paces
back and forth in the living room of the lavish mansion that she lives in with
her former brother-in-law, Donovan, and her son, Logan. Her mind is racing over
the fact that the previous afternoon, she happened to see Andy and Logan together
at the Pink Flamingo. Normally, this wouldn't trouble her, but they each had a
drink in front of them, which means that Andy has fallen off the wagon again.
She knows all too well what happens when an alcoholic falls off the wagon; nothing
good will come from it. The last thing she wants is for Logan to be wrapped up
in Andy's situation. "You slept in today," Meggan stops pacing
when she sees Logan move into the living room. "Long night?" Logan
smirks back to his mother as he knows that he did stay up rather late drinking.
He doesn't want her to know that, however, because he knows that she will be upset
with him and that is the last thing he wants considering she is freshly home from
rehab. "I probably stayed up too late playing that new video game,"
he tells her as he pours himself a glass of water from the bar. "My bad,
I won't let it happen again." "I'm worried about you, Logan,"
Meggan sighs back to him. "You've been home a while now and still have no
direction with your life." "I know, I know," Logan huffs
back to her. "In case you forgotten, I am going through a difficult time
though; you know, losing a child and whatnot." "That's even
more reason for you to have purpose in your life," Meggan tells him. "And
why you shouldn't be around Andy Spinnes." Logan looks back at her
in surprise. "Where the hell did that come from?" "I saw
you two together," Meggan reveals to him. "Having a drink at the casino.
Logan, you know he's a drunk, right?" "You shouldn't be calling
anyone that." "I know my history," Meggan replies to him
quickly. "But Andy, he was sober for years, and now he's drinking again.
I
I don't want you to be around him, God only knows what will happen."
"Andy and I are friends," Logan informs her. "You can't tell
me who to be friends with and who not too be friends with!" "I
am just concerned about you, Logan." "Mind your own business,"
Logan spits back to her. "I will hang out with whomever I want too, and nothing
you can say or do will change that." Dominick's Townhouse
The
front door opens to Dominick's townhouse and Dominick, Felicia, and Eva all scurry
inside as they have just landed from Florence, Italy. They all decided to come
back home so Frederick could help Dawn get out of her brainwashed status.
"Wow, it feels good to be back," Eva breathes a sigh of relief as
they move into the living room. "You don't realize how much home means to
you until you're away for months at a time." "That's very true,"
Dominick chuckles to her as Felicia looks at some of the family photos that are
on the mantel. "And it looks like the housekeeper has been maintaining the
home nicely." "She was always wonderful," Felicia smiles
as she sets the picture of her, Dominick, Leah, and Tyler back down. "Oh,
I've missed my children. I
I can't wait to see everyone." "All
in good time," Dominick looks back at her. "What's important is that
Frederick knows that you're back so he can start to help Dawn." "And
don't worry Felicia," Eva tells her. "Frederick won't get anywhere near
you. We will get security here to ensure you're safe." "Thank
you both," Felicia nods back to them. "I just want Dawn to be okay.
That's all that matters right now." The Lawson Estate; Abby, Ethan,
Cheresa, & Georgina's Home
Cheresa opens the door to the Lawson
estate and sees Daisy standing on the other side. She pulls her great Aunt into
a hug before she lets Daisy move into the foyer. Daisy had requested to come over
to give Cheresa, Adam, and Helen a critical update on Frederick and Dawn.
"Please come in," Cheresa tells Daisy as they move to the living
room. "Adam and Helen are waiting for you." "Good, I'm
glad everyone is here," Daisy announces as she moves into the living room
and she sees Adam and Helen standing next to one another. "That way I only
have to say this once." "What is going on? Does this have to
do with Frederick helping our little girl?" Adam asks her out of curiosity.
Both he and Helen are desperate for someone to start treatment on Dawn so they
can get their daughter back. "Yes, it does," Daisy purses her
lips together. "I met with Frederick earlier today. And I told him that Felicia
was on her way back to town. In fact, she and Dominick might already be home."
"Oh fantastic," Helen clasps her hands together. "So that means
he will help Dawn, right? He's going to help Dawn?" "That's
what he said," Daisy nods back to the group. "He said he will start
to help Dawn come out of her brainwashed status." "Thank God,"
Cheresa pulls Daisy into a hug while Adam and Helen embrace. "This might
the start to ending this nightmare once and for all." Twin Peaks
Law Courts "Mr. Coutts," Judge Ross looks back at Will,
who just asked to speak before the Judge made his ruling. "You've already
had your chance to speak when you were on the witness stand. Now, if I give you
another opportunity, I'd have to give the same courtesy to Ms. Claus, and I do
not want this to be drawn out any longer than it has to be." Josh
stands up and guides Will to sit back down. "Sorry your honor," Josh
tells him as Will gulps heavily. "We don't want to delay the proceedings."
"Thank you," the Judge nods back to them. "As I was saying,
this case is very interesting, but I have made my final ruling." Paige
grabs Ethan's hand and squeezes it as she braces herself. "While
I appreciate that the father wants to raise his child, Ms. Paige Claus is the
child's mother, and therefore, it is her decision to make. I will not take that
away from her. Ms. Claus, you have the right to make the decision fo your child."
Paige lets a single tear fall down her cheek. "Thank you," she whispers
to the honor, who smashes his mallet down. "Court adjourned."
Paige pulls Ethan into a hug while they embrace, she locks eyes with Will,
who feels his heart shatter inside his chest. He can't believe he just lost his
son, forever, and all because of Paige. Next on One Day at a Time -
