Twin Peaks Law Courts

Robbie slowly stands up from his seat and looks at Brooke, who turns to see where he is going. He makes a gesture that he will be right back before he scurries out of the court room. He is feeling dehydrated and needs some water before he can go on. Brooke turns back around and looks at Franklin Ross, who is reviewing the witness list. Brooke only hopes that Cheresa's testimony that she was a good mother will help her cause as she knows that she needs all of the help she can while on trial for purchasing her daughter from the black market.

Brooke looks over to Josh, who is writing some notes down on his piece of paper. "How do you think it went with Cheresa?"

"I think it was very good," Josh admits to his client. "She said that you and Greg were good parents and that she will always think of you as her Mom. That has to say something that the so-called victim in all this is on your side."

"I'm so glad that you feel that way," she breathes a sigh of relief. "I was so nervous when she was up there."

"She did great, you did great, we will get through this Brooke."

"Thanks Josh."

Before Josh can reply, Franklin looks into the crowd from this chair. "Dr. Gregory Lawson, please move forward. You are the next witness in the people vs. Brooke Lawson," he announces, as the crowd starts to murmur and Greg stands up slowly. He looks at Kim before he and Brooke make eye contact as he starts to move towards the stand. Brooke hopes her estranged husband backs her while he on the stand or things could get very ugly.

One Day House; Nicholas' Office

Andy slowly moves up towards Nicholas' office holding two coffee's in his hands. He is trying to make it up to Nicholas for being late to the grand opening of the One Day House; he hates that he has been late a few more times than usual lately. He isn't sure what is going on, but he hasn't been able to think about much else. Of course, the other piece that is bugging him is how he has been hearing that strange scratching noise in the bedroom of the Young mansion. He hasn't seen an animal or anything yet but he knows what he has heard. He just doesn't know what it could be.

"I brought you your favorites from the Sugarbowl," Andy smiles as he moves into the office. Andy sets the coffee down on the desk as Nicholas uneasily smiles back to him.

"What's this for?" he asks his lover surprised to see him.

"My first attempt at an apology," Andy replies to him. "I know how much this place means to you. I am really sorry that I was late to the opening."

"I appreciate the gesture," Nicholas nods back to him. "But, I think we have to get to the root of this issue. Why is it happening now?"

"I wish I knew," Andy admits to him. "But, maybe it has to do with the noises I've been hearing in the house?"

Nicholas uneasily sighs back to him as he recalls Andy telling him that he thinks that the house is haunted; Nicholas knows that there has to be another explanation to this story as he doesn't believe that the mansion has ghosts.

"You still think that there are ghosts in the mansion?" Nicholas arches his eyebrow back to Andy.

"I don't know," Andy shakes his head back to him. "I'm sure there's a logical explanation, I'm just not sure what it is yet."

"You're right, there has to be a logical explanation Andy because there are no such things as ghosts," Nicholas moves up to him. "Whatever this is, we will figure it out, okay?"

Andy forces a smile on his face. "Figure it out together, as long as we are together, we are going to be okay."

The Sugarbowl

Helen stirs some sugar and cream into her coffee at the coffee bar before she puts a lid on her beverage. She is about to leave when she sees Adam come into the coffeehouse. She gets a sly grin on her face wondering if she will be able to get through to him today; she still can't believe that Robin made Adam agree to stay away from her so they could have a chance to be together. She just hopes that she can convince Adam that Robin is out of line.

As she moves up to him, she can't help but hear him on his cell phone. "You heard correct," Adam says. "I need a round trip to Paris and back. If I can be on the same flight as the Robertson Enterprises crew that would be great."

Helen arches her eyebrow and realizes that Adam is going to go to Paris with Robin and Shane. She moves back away from him, so he doesn't see her as the wheels in her head start to turn. "Paris is a romantic city," she whispers to herself. "If he is there with Robin, they might grow closer and she can feed more lies into his head," she says. "I can't let that happen. I have to go…I have to go to Paris and make sure Adam knows how much he means to me."

The Richardson Estate; Meggan, Lukas & Donovan's Home

"What do you mean, I might not like where we could get ten million dollars from?" a confused Meggan looks back over at Lukas, who just revealed to her that Craig wants ten million dollars in order for him to drop the rape charges against him. Meggan had told her brother that she didn't think they had that kind of money but he just said he had an idea but she might not like the idea. She has no idea what his idea could be but she wants to ensure that if they can get the money they should because then the charges will be dropped and they can move on from everything.

Lukas uneasily looks back at her. "Remember those GIC's that Dad left us in his will?" he asks her. "We haven't touched them. They are still at the bank, just collecting interest. I think the overall amount in those GIC's is well over ten million."

Meggan shakes her head back to him in shock. "I can't believe you remembered that," she gasps back to him. "I had completely forgotten about that money."

"I was thinking if we could go to the bank, we could withdraw them and then I'd have to the funds to pay off Craig. He could be out of our lives forever."

Lukas watches as Meggan walks past him quickly and moves to her phone. He hopes that she is on board with this idea because he has to make these charges go away. Nothing else matters to him right now. "What are you doing?" he asks his sister.

"I'm calling the bank," she turns to him as she purses her lips together. "I'm seeing when the earliest appointment is."

Twin Peaks Law Courts

Robbie moves out of the washroom and starts to move towards the court room where Brooke's trial is taking place. He happens to see Jeff standing in the hallway and he arches his eyebrow, wondering what Jeff is doing at the court house. He finds himself moving up to him.

"Jeff? What are you doing here?" Robbie asks him as he approaches him. "You're not here for Brooke's trial, are you?"

"No," Jeff shakes his head back to him. "I had to drop off some documents for Logan's custody hearing, that's all."

"Ah," Robbie nods back to him. "I'm glad it was nothing serious."

"Yea, me too."

"How are things going with you, Logan and Meggan?"

Jeff sighs back to him as he realizes that Robbie must not know of the latest. He still can't believe it himself; Meggan learned that after the custody hearing, Jeff went to see Leah to see if their marriage could work, however, when Jeff found Leah she was in bed with Cory. That's when he went to Meggan and they reunited. Meggan feels like Jeff only reunited with her because Leah wasn't an option.

"That' well, huh?" Robbie quips back to him.

"Yea, its over," Jeff shakes his head back to him. "She kicked me out."

"That was fast," Robbie replies to him immediately. "What did you do?"

"She found out that I went to Leah before her and when I realized Leah and I wouldn't get back together, I went to Meggan," Jeff tells him. "I know, that's a douchebag move."

"Yea, I'd say," Robbie rolls his eyes back to him. "I say you got what you deserved there, Jeff."

"Gee, thanks Robbie," Jeff sneers back to him. "You should get back to your trial. I gotta go."

"Good luck figuring out your life now," Robbie smiles back to him, secretly happy that this is happening to Jeff; they've never had any good blood between them. In a lot of ways, this is karma in Robbie's mind. "You'll need it."

Back inside the court room, Greg slowly sits down as he was just finished getting sworn in. He gulps heavily as he looks at Brooke and then his children, who are sitting behind her. He hopes that he doesn't do anything that hurts Brooke's chances at getting off. The last thing he wants to have happen is Brooke going to jail for giving the Lawson's the gift of Cheresa.

"Dr. Lawson," Franklin begins to say to him. "How long have you and Brooke Lawson been married?"

Greg looks back at him in surprise at the first question. "Goodness, I think almost 24 years. Time flies, I suppose."

"And, you have how many children with her?"

"Biologically, we have Bradley and Abigail," he says as he looks out at Brad and Abby. "And, we adopted Cheresa. She's our youngest."

"Only you didn't adopt her, did you?" Franklin asks him next.

Greg shakes his head before he looks at Brooke. "Turns out, no," he admits to the Judge. "But, none of us had any idea. I thought the adoption was legit. The truth only came out last fall when our daughter had an accident."

"After having two children, why did you and Mrs. Lawson want another child?"

Greg uneasily sighs back to him. "Our marriage had hit a little bit of a rough patch," he recalls as he uneasily looks at Brooke. Reliving their painful times is not easy for him but he knows that he has to do it. "We thought that another baby would bring us closer together. Around the same time, Brooke learned that she couldn't have any more children, so we agreed to adopt. We were on the adoption list and we were the second choice a few times. That really left us distraught and upset."

Franklin looks back down at him. "So then you bought a baby?"

"It wasn't like that," Greg shakes his head. "I didn't know what happened until it was too late; I didn't know that Brooke bought her from the black market until Cheresa was our baby and we were raising her."

"So your wife purchased the child all on her own? You had nothing to do with it?"

"That's right," Greg nods as he looks over at Brooke. "But, you should know, that I am grateful that she did. Cheresa has been one of the brightest lights of our lives. Cheresa is our daughter and she always will be. I thank Brooke for getting our daughter! She's a wonderful mother and I will always be grateful to her for bringing Cheresa into our lives; Brooke has brought a lot of love and joy in our lives."

Robbie stands at the back of the room and gulps heavily, hearing Greg sing Brooke's praises. He looks at Brooke, who smiles back to her estranged husband and it suddenly dawns on Robbie: he has lost Brooke, likely forever.
